Thanks for the link Major Rob. For those of you who didn’t read it- it looks like the Tamiya kit can be made into an M26 with T81 tracks from Korea, but it wouldn’t work for most Korean ones, as they had the T80E1 tracks. Wonder if AFV club makes them and if that would be the only change needed? Since I have both kits, I am leaning towards just making the Tamiya one a WWII one.
Thanks for posting the link to the review of the Tamiya kit, very informative. So basically, if I understand correctly… if I were to build it OOB I would be limited to the one version that served with the USMC early in the war, which I’d be ok with… although in my heart I had always wanted to build it as a WW2 version just like JWest.
I hear tales (unconfirmed by me personally) that the AFV Club tracks (which would be more proper) do not fit the Tamiya Pershing. Haven’t tried it but have heard complaints from guys who have.
That is good enough for me. I will do the Dragon as the Korean and the Tamiya as WWII. Have my cake and eat it too. Thanks again Major Rob

It’s too bad the SU-76 kits are so awful. I would like to build one of these for this group build. I started building one a few years ago but sacrificed it on July 4th to a few firecrackers. Felt like a kid again! [:D] I’m thinking about a M36B2 or a Pershing. Any idea when this build will start? Fall-winter hopefully?
It’s a good idea, but it all depends on when the build would start. I would not think that anything before fall/winter would be appropriate. There are so many other GB’s going on right now.
In any case ,I do have a Dragon Pershing, so again, depending on the timeframe I’d be up for it.
seems like the prevailing sentiment is late this year. Works for me too.
how is that dragon pershing? what are the indys like?
The Dragon M-26(T26E1) has very nice indies. The Dragon M-26A1 are a builders nightmare!! Same applies to their M-46. The guide teeth are seperate pieces, so the tracks have double the amount of parts for a normal indie track, with have being tiny
