Jaguar XJS V12 - Trying again after 50 years

Nice job. Lot’s of detail in that engine for sure.

I’ve been making make some progress. I’m trying to move slowly so I can - hopefully - make fewer mistakes. The ability required to construct these models should never be overlooked, but they are truly brought to life by your painting skills. I’m in awe of the artistic abilities of the people on this forum. I just hope my brush painting looks acceptable.

The exhaust system & suspension came together pretty well.

I feel pretty good about how the body is looking, but once again, it will be those finishing touches that will make all the difference.

The underside looks great to me - I think you hit the appropriate level of wear/chipping, it looks quite realistic to my eyes.

I took a couple of shots of the interior with it placed on the chassis. The interior of the Jag will be difficult to see after the body is attached, but I still wanted it to look as much like my old car as I could. I think it turned out pretty well.

Working on this model has really made me miss my Jag. It was a great car to drive.

Cool, that’s a real sentimental journey! That Jag is lookin’ good to me so far. You might want to add some brown wash to the seats to show the creases a little better. There is this Citadel paint called “Agrax Earthshade” that I feel would work perfectly here, you might want to try it.

Good luck with your build and have a nice day!
