Say you were stranded on a desert isle, or iceberg, etc., and you had a limitless supply of only one kit (and it’s variants), and all the tools, paint, glue, etc. that you could ever use, which kit would you want ? Here’s my choice-Hasegawa’s Bf 109 in 1/48th. I love this kit.
For me it would be the Tamia mozzie, you wouldn’t run out of conversion subjects for a very long time and it is a great looking plane…Greg
I rather like the Hasegagme 109’s too, but I’ll go with the Tamiya 190 family.
Regardless of the small problems, I love those kits. You could conceivably
build almost every variant of the Butcher Bird from these kits, except the
early short-nosed variants. And with the number of markings options I have…
So little time. [V]
Fade to Black…
Accurate Miniatures SBD Dauntless…There weren’t many variants-- but it is my favorite plane and I’d never tire of building models of it ![]()
No question about it … Monogram 1/48th B-17 (only because they didn’t make a 1/32). I loved every minute of it.

That’s Vivian Leigh on the radio room door.
I imagine the answer would almost always be whatever your favorite plane is. For me FW 190’s with P-47’s a close second.
Hey all,
Tough question man!!! I have a few favs so it would be REALLY hard to pick.
Lets see, the P-51, P-47, P-39, B-17 and the Hawg??? Can I get back to ya?? PLEASE!!![:p][:p][:p][:p][;)]
Boy could I go for a Blue right about now[:p][:0]
Flaps up, Mike
I’d build a fleet of Hasegawa F-14’s. Great kit, and at least I would be kept busy for a few years.
demono69
Hasegawa’s 1/48 Phantoms.
with 5037 built plus the mitsubishi’s I would be occupied for just a little while,
but the time would be split between that and frolicking with the native girls on that sunny island !
Hey, Oggy ! What if it’s the iceberg on which you’re stranded ? Are you ready to rub noses with the Eskimos ? (is Eskimo politically correct ? )
Hey oggy and Pix,
Nobody mention anything about island babes[}:)][:0]. Who needs a hobby then!!![:p][:p][:p][;)][:D]
Flaps up, Mike
My real wish would be a fine detailed Heinkel He 219 Owl in 1/32.
T
I’d want a Skyraider with all the bells and whistles in 1/32. That would keep me busy just about forever. ![]()
wow… I’m tempted to say the Trimaster FW-190D series kits, any of em. BUT, since I’ve got 21 DML and Trimaster FW-190s just sitting in my parents’ basement waiting for the day that I have my own permanent place to display them, I think I’m gonna beg off the 190s for a while.
In that case? Cobras… lots and lots of Revell 1/32nd scale Cobras. WITH Cobra Company cockpit sets of course! You did say we could have aftermarket stuff, right?
I would have to go with the Hasegawa 1/72 scale series of F-14’s. As a 72nd scale fan these are the best and I am a huge fan of the Tomcat.
Bull[8D]
I am torn between Revell’s 1/32 scale cobra and like cobrahistorian with Cobra Company’s cockpit set ( Lots of real nice nose work) and Mongram’s B58 Hustler
wit henough materials to do the planned varients and DO’s and bomb/Nav cockpits.
uhmmmm, tough choice, it would be the revell 1/32 F4 or the italieri 1/72 C130
Airfix 1/24 Harrier. I could reverse engineer it into a p1127 or convert it to the VAAC Harrier.
If there was only one kit EVER, it would have to be a 1/24 Thunderbird 2. At over 10 feet long, imagine the superdetailing possibilities!
I GO WITH BUTZ STRANDED ON AN ISLAND SCREW THE MODELS WHEN THERES BABYDOLLS ON THE ISLAND [:0][:0][:D][}:)]
NO OFFENSE TO YOU (Pixilater) BUT WHAT THE HELL KIND OF QUESTIONS IS THAT.
For me I think it would be the Me 109, I love the look of that plane.
