I finally finished an AT AT!

It took me awile to get the weathering the way I liked but I think I finaly got it. It was funny how simple it looks but to get it to look right for the scale was quite problematic. Here are some pics of AMT/Ertls beast:

I was realy happy with the weatering on the feet:

Thanks for looking,
Matt

Fantastic! I always thought the AT-AT’s were cool designs, but never got to build one. Something tells me I’d better grab one while they’re available again. Nice work!

Thanks Jon. Yeah I think I’ll pick up some more of the rerelease kits, I got this one awhile back while the price was still up there[:(!] Oh well.

Matt

Shes a beautyt Matt.[bow]

The small weathering details look great !!!

Yep I gotta get me one od them AT-ATs!!!

Thanks guys[:D] I have been a bit busy as of late. My goal this year was to get some of the stash built before I would let myself buy any new kits (and that with the new 350th scale Enterprise almost here). So far sence January 1st I’ve built:
Anakins pod racer
Speader bike with trooper
Stap with Droid
The AT AT
Klingon D7 (Polar Lights)
Galileo shuttlecraft

And started,
Darths Tie Fighter
The Imperial shuttle

So today I said happy birthday to myself and won a kit on ebay. After all a modeler does need to keep the stash ready at all times.[:D]

Great job Matt!!!

I was contemplating picking up one of the Anakin’s Podracers, how did that build go?

Super job!

Great looking model. Nice weathering.

regards, Rick

Thanks agaain everyone![:D]

It actualy suprized me coming from AMT. I expect to open the box to find mostly air but in this case it was packed with trees. The only chalenge to this kit is that the main engine body comes in four parts. Must have been needed to cast in all the detail? If you keep this assembly straight the rest goes really good (until tou get to the decals) here are some pics:

Great detail on the engines really makes for this subject,

This is why the decals are such a problem, it took alot of setting solution for them to lay down,

My airbrush needed a major cleaning so I had to brush paint the pod in that super shiny silver,

Matt

Nice job! Like you, I brushed paint my model and the result is similar: http://pages.videotron.com/jfp/swgallery/pm/MPC_PODRACER.html

Fantastic, MAtt!

very nice work friend!![tup]

Excellent!! I just pick up one of these today…$15. I got permission from my boss…errr…wife to go out and get the Star Destroyer tomorrow. It’s gonna be fun to get thse old Star Wars kits.

Brian

Thanks for the heads-up Matt on the Podracer. I can pick one up locally for $9, think that’s a good price for the kit?

$9 sounds fare if you can pic it up locally. Shipping would bump it up another $4 to $6…GO FOR IT[:D] Its a fun build and worth it in my book.

Matt

Graet Job Matt!!!

Great paint job!
You can add some earth dust and some chipping also for a more dynamic effect…
