Hornet / Mirage Hybrid # 5

Nice it looks like a Ef-2000

Ps Have u been working on a aircraft carrier i saw those little planes in the background

Wow!.. awesome… I looks like something from the Macross/Robotech series… a really good work…

After staring at that two seat for a while, it didn’t work out in my mind. I can’t get over how close the seats were to each other. So, I’ve gone back to a single seat.[B)]

Here some work that I’ve done recently . Still toying with design( To lenghen the intakes or not, that is the question) Also started wheel wells . Yes, the cuts for the wells are off and no I didn’t do it one purpose.

Just a little quetions, how much Hornets do you have in your stash? Almost every “what if” that you build has hornet parts!

It must be your favorite jet!

Hey Ed,
Very cool indeed. So what scheme/Squadron is she gonna be in??
And to think people thought that Stavatti Aerospace had some imagination!! Talk about imagination at its best…!!! Looking forward to the finished creation. BTW, does this a/c have a name??
One thing though Ed, the aviation world is missing out on onehellofa designer. Their lose…!!!
Flaps up, Mike

Wow, different, very aggressive looking. Nice job.

RemcoGrob,
I’ve built 7 in 1:48 and three are left. One at work,( we make a cartridge for it) a Blue Angel and one for my uncle. To be honest, the F-4 is my fav and the Hornet is a close second. I saw the first Blue Angels show in Hornets just before I entered the Navy and when I got to the USS Midway, they had just been introduced into service. I was very impressed with it’s looks and preformance. Being in Crash and Salvage, I had to learn a lot about the Hornet. It was a joy to work with. Of course, after I went to the USS Ranger, I was instantly in awe of the Tomcat, but that’s a different story…[:p] Here’s a few photos I took of them on the Midway and one of me in my youth next to one.

To tell you the truth, I have no idea about markings yet. I’ve got one set of F-4 decals left over that might work.[;)]

Thanks to everyone for your compliments on this bird. [:D] I really appreciate all of them.[8D]
Eddie

looks like some kind of pre-historic giant insect. way to go!

My favourite one so far-brilliant idea, looks amazing!

Darren.

This is probably a better attempt at adding longer intakes. I extended them about an inch. To me, it gives it more proportion to the wide wings. I’m starting to “feel” a direction with this one that is gonna be interesting.[;)][:D]
Eddie

A little more progress today. This version with the longer intakes is starting to grow on me. [:)] Better, flowing lines in my opinion. Okay folks, who’s gonna give the name for this monster?[;)][:D] The suggestion box is open.[^]Also, for anyone wondering, I used portions of the drop tank from my B-58 that I’m not using. OldHooker taught me about using drop tanks for other things besides their intended purpose.[8D]
Eddie

YOu sir, i bow to.

Tonights update shows an experiment of using craft wire instead of solder for the scratchbuilding of the cockpit area. I’m much happier with it than the solder because it holds it’s shape better during positioning.
Eddie

A new mock up to check the proportions of the new intakes to the rest of the aircraft. The Scooter is there for size comparison.[:)] This one is as big as my Archangel III.[^] Anyone got a name suggestion for this bird? Plenty of time to come up with one.[:D]
Eddie

How about “Intimedator”?

Darwin, O.F. [alien]

hats off to you! WOW![:D]

I’ve gotten a little work done lately. These pix show the extent of how much I’ve added to the orginial airframe and the other two shoe the completed intake(s) A little more scratchbuilding and then a whole lot of putty and sanding.[yuck][;)]
Eddie
P.S. Here’s a couple of the UAV armed escort (in progress) for my F-61F Archangel III and weapons(in progress) for the UAV and Hornet/ Mirage.

I finally got past a bit of a dry spell as far as imagination goes. This is the final config to the end. I’m getting a better feeling about this one and I hope to move along at a quicker pace. I have to, I’ve got 5+ projects going.[:D][:p]
