Hasegawa Bf-109E-4 Trop

This Build was for the North Afrika GB, so I thought I’d post it here as well for those not following that Thread. The model represents Black 3 from JG 27 in October 1941. The Staffel had just been transferred from the Eastern Front & the aircraft had been field painted in a rather hodge podge camo.

Hope you enjoy the peek.

Regards, Rick

Rick,

Very nice work. The Hurricane for the BoB GB now this, truly standards to be followed. Thanks for the look…

Hit straight and far…

Superb, I have come expect no less, you make some of the nicest builds Rick! I’m surprised you are finding time to model, with it being golfing season and all! Thanks for the look! [:D][tup]

Dear Rick

Good Job !!!

Nice looking model Rick. I especially like the stripe detail on the camo. Is this 1/48?
Again beautifull work.

Jerry

Very, very nice. What a neat choice of camo. Did you use masks for the tail? or is it freehand?

Thats a real beauty Rick.

I love that paint scheme. Great job!

Thanks everyone for the comments, Greatly appreciated.

The camo on the tail planes, cowl & fuselage spine was masked. Everything else was done freehand with a Badger 100LG AB. Paint was Model Master enamels.

Regards, Rick

Very nice great job on the camo.

Rick:
that really came out great !
seeing the camo w/ markings added makes it look
totally pulled together, i wasn’t sure how it was going
2 work when i just saw it painted, but wow !
thanx 4 sharing the pix !

Man, that’s great! Very nice and clean, per usual.

By the way, the photos are nice also. I’m just curious: what did you use for the background, lighting, etc.? Really shows off your work.

Take care,

Mark

Great work Rick. I was just looking at that aircraft in my new Jagdwaffe book this morning and thinking how cool it looked, nicely done! [tup]

Very impressive build Rick , fine job on that 109 , thanks for sharing the pics !!

Fantastic job! That paint scheme is particularly impressive. I don’t think I’ve seen that scheme before.

Very impressive work Rick, I love the paint scheme on this one, thanks for posting it here.

regards,

Darren.

Thanks everyone for looking & for the kind words. Really appreciate them.

frosty, I wasn’t so sure myself, but it worked out OK [:)]

Mark, The background is from a roll of Photographic background paper available at most Camera stores & comes in several colors. The medium Blue works well for most models. Lighting is from two small flash units bounced from photo umbrellas. Camera is a Nikon D70 with an 85mm lens. Final pics were sized & enhanced in Adobe Photo Shop.

Thanks, Rick. Photography for me is another hobby waiting to happen…

Take care,

Mark

Mark, You’re welcome. Photography has long been my second hobby.

Regards, Rick

Superb job, Rick! It looks like you used a wash to accent the panel lines. If so, what type of wash did you use?

Looking forward to your P-40 build!
