This Build was for the North Afrika GB, so I thought I’d post it here as well for those not following that Thread. The model represents Black 3 from JG 27 in October 1941. The Staffel had just been transferred from the Eastern Front & the aircraft had been field painted in a rather hodge podge camo.
Superb, I have come expect no less, you make some of the nicest builds Rick! I’m surprised you are finding time to model, with it being golfing season and all! Thanks for the look! [:D][tup]
Thanks everyone for the comments, Greatly appreciated.
The camo on the tail planes, cowl & fuselage spine was masked. Everything else was done freehand with a Badger 100LG AB. Paint was Model Master enamels.
Rick:
that really came out great !
seeing the camo w/ markings added makes it look
totally pulled together, i wasn’t sure how it was going
2 work when i just saw it painted, but wow !
thanx 4 sharing the pix !
Thanks everyone for looking & for the kind words. Really appreciate them.
frosty, I wasn’t so sure myself, but it worked out OK [:)]
Mark, The background is from a roll of Photographic background paper available at most Camera stores & comes in several colors. The medium Blue works well for most models. Lighting is from two small flash units bounced from photo umbrellas. Camera is a Nikon D70 with an 85mm lens. Final pics were sized & enhanced in Adobe Photo Shop.
