German diver bomber finished!!(pics)

hey guys, i just finished this neat looking bird tonight. i picked this kit up oneday at the LHS just because i thought it looked cool. on the box, it shows a the bird taking off from the middle of a big field so i decided to dirty this one up a bit for the fun of it. hope you enjoy.

this is the 1/48 scale Hs 123A-1 from Amtech. the kit came with a black box resin cockpit which was very cool to say the least. it also included a set of “unspatted” landing gear molded by someone else that installed instead of the “skirted” landing gear.

thanks for allowing me to share my friends. later.

Looking good, Dog!
You did a great job on her. [tup][tup]

Looks good. Awesome weathering, wish I could do that good.

[#ditto] what every one else has already said. My only question is about the bombs… they’re supposed to look like that? I dont know what is but without them it looks like it could pass for the real 1/1 something about the bombs though screams plastic. Maybe its just me…[%-)]

Nice piece of work salty[:D]

Wow, that looks great! You did a really nice job on it. I have one of those in the stash and want to ask … how did the resin pieces go in for you? Good fit or lots of adjustments needed?

Very nice, indeed!
Excellent photography, too!

all i can say is wow, excellent weathering

Great job!!! I havew one of those and have yet to start it… But this might give the incentive to get on it…

hey thanks fellows!!! these are very encouraging posts.

LOL. Aiden, i totally agree fellow. the bombs supposed to be colored RLM02 according to the instructions so thats what color they are. i dont know because this the first time that i’ve used German RLM colors from Model Master, but every RLM color came out glossy!! the bombs were installed after the clear flat was applied so they still shine!! it looks just like i cut them off the sprue tree and glued them on huh!!LOL. below is an “in progress” photo of this bird and notice how close the RLM02 matches the plastic color. thats part of my problem, i get too impatient towards the end of a build and just want to clean off my bench, share the finished pics with you guys, and get started on a nice fresh kit!! it helps me put all the mistakes and such behind me!!

swanny, this whole kit is nothing but ONE BIG ADJUSTMENT!!![V][V] the cockpit don’t fit well, the fuselage halves dont fit well, the top wing really tried my patience, the engine won’t fit into the yellow drum worth a crap, but other than that, i enjoyed the build because i thought it looked cool on the front of the box!![:D] you may not have the trouble i did, but man, what a bear of a model to build for a rookie!!

Wow!!! This realy shows me that you really can make an awsome model from a kit with rasied detail!!! Nice work with the hp-cs!!! Looking forward for more work!!!

Hey little grasshopper, you are learning your lessons well ! Great build Chris, great painting & weathering, top-notch model [tup]. You may have gotten a bad bottle of MM RLM 02. I’ve used a ton of it over the years & it comes out a much darker grey-green & dead flat. Also, a lot of Luftwaffe ordinance was painted RLM 70, not RLM 02. I have this kit in my “build it someday” stash & it’s not exactly a beginners kit, which shows you no longer qualify as a newbie. Very nice photography as well. Thanks for sharing. Keep em coming.

Wow Chris! [:0]
There is nothing I can add that hasn’t been said already.
My question is: Why were you feeling so discouraged the other day?
You are putting out models that look as good as some of the more experienced modelers. Very nice build my friend. [tup]
