German diver bomber finished!!(pics)

Man that’s a sweet build. I love the weathering… you really captured the look of a bird that’s been using a mud field. I love it man.

WOW, great build. OK, if you do the armor build you should do well. That is a great looking aircraft. I am a big fan of those, the arado float plane series, the italian biplane series. SO many beautiful aircraft, ok, another one to buy. LOL
Great job again. Bill

Now that is a great looking kit. You did awesome.[tup][tup]

Looks great! Amtech and Blackbox did that old Ertl (or was it Esci) kit justice.
The interior in mine was pretty easy to install but I also had toruble getting the engine to sit back far enough to place the cowl. I solved my problem by cutting the exhaust collector ring at the top and bottom, the exhaust stacks sit out a little too far from the fuse but it looks good. The upper wing doesn’t seem to have enough dihedral so it wil be a bit rough to install but better than too much dihedral.

Mine just needs some paint and finishing.

Sweet tjob chris!

Really like the cockpit detail and overall painting… well… that Iwata![8D][^]

A Beautiful plane like that and with problems in the build to boot and you call yourself a rookie!!! once again I tip by hat to you, Shes beautiful[bow][bow]

Incredible! The photos truly look like an advertisement for it; I know it makes me want to go buy one! This may be a little off the topic of the actual model, but how did you get the cool gradient in the background? Is it just that the pictures were taken with harsh lighting? I really like the effect.

Great build.
Leon

oh wow thats an incredible model, i want one

thanks guys, very encouraging words. if the bird wasn’t so cool looking to me, i would’ve put the thing away for awhile for sure!![:D] but, i kept staring at the cool box art and read some encouraging post on here and kept traveling on. i’m glad that i did and i’m glad you guys like it. thanks again.

hey little grasshopper?![%-)]
rick, all of my RLM colors come out glossy. none of them are flat. as far as the color of the bombs, i followed instructions and didn’t do any research to see if i had the correct colors and such, but thanks for the info because i plan to build another one someday with the splinter cammo job. thanks friend. later.

you just ain’t lookin’ hard enough mike!![:D] you dont see those seems grinning at you in most of the photos? that is very discouraging to me!! and i had 4 projects on the workbench and all of them were at the seem filling and sanding stage (which is one of my least favorite passtimes) and i think i just got depressed looking at all the seems shinning!! thanks for the kind words friend. later.

newtothegame, i used a light grey piece of matte board like used to frame artwork with. i bought some at hobby lobby not long ago after the pixelater recommended it. it works great and comes in many colors. then, i have a clamp on lamp with a 100 watt GE"reveal" bulb on my workbench that i can position at most any angle needed to light the subject with. then, i use 2 other desktop lamps with 60 watt bulbs to do any fill light or highlighting with. read some of the stuff in this link that the pixelater does and thats where i began my little photography journal. also, bill will help you in anyway he is able if you email him and ask him things. he is super nice and has helped me out on many occasion with all kinds of questions. all the lamps i bought from walmart except for the clamp on that i bought from hobby lobby for $9. hope this helps and if you need more info, feel free to email me anytime. if i dont know the answer, we’ll find one somewhere. thanks for you kind words my friend. the royal navy F4F is sweet as well!! later.

here is a great link with a wealth of info on photography:http://www.scalehobby.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?fid=57

Showing my age I guess but several years ago there was a very popular TV series, name escapes me, about a Kung-Foo Master who ran around the world taking out the bad guys & bringing justice to the down trodden. Jane Fonda’s brother, name also escapes me ( getting old & forgetful, sigh ), played the lead role. Every episode, they would show a flash-back to when the Master was a kid being taught the martial arts by an older blind Master. Whenever the kid did something very well & learned the lesson of the day, the old blind guy would say " Well done little grasshopper ". Hope that clears up my reference as otherwise it was pretty dumb.

Rick,

That was the show “Kung-Fu” with David Carradine. [;)]

Salty,

Don’t worry about those seams my friend they are not that noticeable.
I too have a lot of flaws in the paint that I can see on my F-15E I am building but it got to where I just said, it is good enough and the next one will be better.
I too am a perfectionist and sometimes that is a bad thing for modeling as everything has to be perfect which leads to much longer build times.

Mike

Great job, Chris, she looks fantastic. Glad to see you got out of the doldrums. Keep cranking them out.

Apparently it was dirty enough to appeal to the tread heads to [:)] (no offense guys!)

I really like this one ALOT.

Very nice looking build.

And nice to see a different subject.

Karl

Excellent job on the 123 saltydog.

Saltydog, I guess the pep talk helped, You will have all of your 1/2 off kits from Hobby Lobby built in no time at the rate you are going. My only question is when do you eat?

Thad

My hat is off to you, it’s a great looking bird.
