"GERMAN ARROWS" - OFFICIAL DO-335 GB

Gluttons for punishment? I think that is very true… Those kits are easier to build every time though…

That is definitely part of their charm though - its a tough build, but yields great results if you are careful!

I just finished the A8 as well, I have a D9 I’m holding off on until I forget how difficult the A8 was!!

John, (Falconmod) Brother I hear ya about feeding the carpet creature! In my case its the concrete crocodile (I work in a corner of my garadge) But I’ll tell you what I’ve done that cut losses down to a very bare minimum. I read here(Fine Scale) some time ago about wearing an apron, You tack the apron to the underside of your bench slip it on and it acts like a big basket, you drop something, its almost always in the apron somewhere. The extreemely rare times wnen it even eludes the apron, I have a small 12volt car vac that I put a piece of cheese cloth or a piece of old panty hose that my wife donates ( well actually she doesn’t know shes donating yet) over the inlet to the tank Under the hose connection and suck it up! the part will be in the nylon catch every time.Just a tip , might help to keep you from crawling around on the floor so much. Take care friends!

Doug

I received my birthday present today! [blns]

A good friend (you know who you are) sent this as a gift, THANK YOU! It is awesome!

Sweet kit! If thats typical Tamiya, It’ll a great build.

Ii’m at nats now too. generally i hang out working the raffle booth. only bought 5, 1 at the raffle and swapped 1 to date.

I’m very excited about this build. Checking out the instructions last night and it will be a fun one!

Eagle90

Hey Wayne,

Any way to post pics from there? That would be so cool! So what have you picked up? No teasing…let us know!

Eagle90

To date i have a JGSDF TYPE 90(?) MBT, JGSDF IRAQI LAV4x4 (since i just ordered one), chinese/japanese gunboat, soviet and PLAN missile boat, won a vietnam MARINE LLRP set and swapped a promodeler JU88A4 for a PLA SNOW LEOPARD 8x8. looking at 2 cargo ships but waiting for sat price drop. also got a glue system.

Wow! Sounds like you’re doing well! Any bargain basement deals going on? Old Monograms or Revells in a dollar bin! [:D]

Ain’t you a lucky boy. The height of these things always gets me, almost big enough to be a Double Decker [whstl]

I hear ya Bish… That is a massive aircraft.

I’m still waiting for my resin exhausts from my LHS [:(] And I was looking at the kit last night messing with the wheels and realized I want resin wheels for this too. I don’t like the ones that revell has in the kit. If anyone else has this kit look at the wheels once they are assembled, the flat is actually a V shape. [:O] So I’m going to order those too.

Don’t know from who yet but I’ll figure that out tomorrow when I go to my LHS. [:D]

John

I know how you feel, John. I’m still waiting for the resin spinner for my Airacobra I ordered over 2 months ago…

True Details offers a nice wheel set for the 335 at a very good price:

i’m beat. NATIONALs was a hoot but i must not of had fun since i had money in my wallet when i got home. five 7 hour days on my feet setting up, taking down and working the raffle and shipping. the last thing i need is ordering AM stuff for my 2. plus the revell 1/200 BASTE (Big Ass Saw Thingy Excavator) was waiting when i got home. back at the bench on a ZSU, DD-805, and M-1117 and already looking at contest builds for this year and 2014.

Hey Clemens… I’m still waiting on one item for my “Arrow” but it wont keep me from starting… I’m usually prone to trying to be realistic as I can, but as we know on this beautiful old aircraft very few ever took to the air and even fewer saw action. So, having said that I will be taking a few artistic freedoms with this build. I’m going to do a night fighter as I would have liked to have seen her rigged and flying.

The kit I’m building is a Monogran Pro Modeler, 1/48th scale, there will be a fair amount of resin and PE, along with some RB “guns” and cannons. The paint will be totally my imagination and scheme. I will start this weekend I hope. Take care my friends…

Doug

That’s great news! I can’t wait to see some progress pics! I’m going on a 3-week trip to the states on Friday though… I’ll try to keep updated regarding all my GBs (as well as the ones I’m participating in)…

Ahhh. Well safe journey!

Doug

Thanks!

Safe trip Clemens. Just don’t let them corrupt your English with that funny lingo they have.[;)]
