Is there a kit of the spaceship…battleship at a normal price (15-20$). the same for the viper.
i think it is a bit absurd to pay 60-100 $ for it. not all of us are rich lol…
Just keep checking ebay. After a month and a half, I finally got an original issue Millenium Falcon for $20.
thanks mate…
Thyamis is right, just keep checking the bay. If you see one starting out low dont bid on it, that just stirs up the bidding wars. Wait grasshopper and when the there just a little time left go in with a big bid of which you’ll either be outbid on OR you put to much of a gap for the other bidders to catch. Snipin 101. I saw one go for 48$ this way. Let us pray. good luck. T.L.
“THIS IS MY GRACELAND!”

With the release of the TV series in December, you can bet that Revell/Monogram will re-release all of the kits. Patience has it’s rewards.
memeau, I hope you have better luck than I. bought a ps2 and the game. ps2 ok, game too hard!
Here are the new ships:

I missed getting the old Battlestar Galactica models when I was young but it would be nice if Revell/Monogram rereleased there models. I saw the pictures of the new mini-series and all the ships except the shuttle looks different. They do not have a pic of a Cylon Base Ship. I am not sure which ships I like better, the old or the new ones.
Here’s the Basestar;

The last Revellogram release of BSG models was reportedly a money loser. Go figure! You can’t find a Colonial kit in any hobbystore anymore.
I’m sorry, the new Galactica looks like it will be horrible. Like Starship Troopers with Cylons. Why is it that no one can make good Sci-Fi anymore? Cheesy dialog and pointless plots. And don’t get me started about the toothless retarded white trash superstitious cult channel (sorry, Sci-Fi Channel). Asimov and Clarke etc. is Sci-Fi not UFO’s and Jonathan Edwards. What next, palm readings?
Plum, how do you feel about Heinlein, Niven, or Phillip Jose Farmer, or Philip K Dick? I love Arthur Clarke, and Asimov is pretty good too. I have the hardest time explaining Sci-Fi to people who aren’t already fans. They have the idea that it’s all ufo’s and guys blasting away with their rayguns and such. Frustrates me to no end. Most people have no idea how intelligent good Sci-Fi is.
Maddafinga, Thankfully there’s someone else out there. All fantastic writers. I regret that while I still buy books I have no time to read them. The recent exception is hawkings universe in a nutshell. While I do like cowboys in space type movies (ie star wars, battlestar galactica) I still hope for the depth of movies like blade runner and Gattaca. Not really any spaceships to speak of. I think studios underestimate the appeal of real sci-fi if done correctly.
Blade Runner is a classic, have you ever read the book they took it from? Phil Dick again, a great writer. I’ve read A Bried History of Time, but not Universe in a Nutshell, how is that?
I’m re-reading Farenhieght 451 again now, probably going to finish it later today.
451 was a good book. Never read electric sheep though. My sister always harasses me to read it, she loved it. Nutshell is good so far. finally helped me start to grasp the time dilation concept. I never found that it was explained well in other books that I’ve read. How about Spider Robinson’s Calahan’s series, have you read those?
Hmm, never even heard of him, I’ll have to keep an eye out for that one. What’s it about? I’ll have to check on Spider Robinson.
Most of the Phil Dick stuff is fantastic, in particular however, his short stories, Minority Report, Second Variety (they ripped the movie Screamers off of that one) We Can Remember It For You Wholesale ( from which they ripped and ruined Total Recall). They also ripped the whole idea of The Matrix from Phil Dick stuff. After you’ve read some of his stuff you’ll see how the whole and exact idea of The Matrix is a pretty good copy. His best novels are Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, The Man in the High Castle, A Scanner Darkly. There are other great ones, but I can’t bring them to mind just now.
Have you read Ender’s Game or any of the really great Orson Scott Card stuff? How do you feel about Neal Stevenson? I loved Snow Crash and Cryptonomicon. Can’t wait to get his new book.
Can’t wait to see what the new series is gunna look like!!!
December 8th on the Scifi channel the firist showing of the new mini-series.
