frosty's first pix

Geez eric, what’d you expect from a big sugar donut…
So Frosty, if you don’t have a desk how are you getting your homework done…hmmmmm?

Display bases, display bases. I highly reccomend them. Its sort of like matting and framing a picture. Makes a nice presentation and allows you to display the model without having to touch it. It also discourages people from picking up the model to view it. They tend to keep it on the table then and turn it using the base.

Again. Nice job. I know I’ve given you a hard time about the micro armor, but you do it well. You have a nice attention to detail. Keep it up. I imagine we’ll be seeing you in some of the show results.

Mike

Yeah, give it a try, Dwight…!

erush:
u took the words rite out of my mouth (even down to my accent)… [:D][:D]
except for the evil chuckle part ! [;)]

and a big thanx 2 u 4 ur own efforts 2 keep my pix linked !
u r just 2 sweet urself !

frosty[:)]

DT:

thanx 4 the compliments ! please do try an afv in small scale, i can hardly wait to see what u come up with, and it’ll help stretch ur hobby budget…not to mention looking pretty good next to ur 1/72 a/c ! i know ur an abrams fan; the revell AG abrams m1a1HA (heavy armor) kit is pretty sweet in the box, and Major G. says it’s just about the best in 1/72… and when it comes to anything abrams, i’d say trust a guy who’s got a few of 'em parked rite near his office ![:D]
and i know exactly what u mean about running out of space ! do u have any models in ur office at work ?

frosty[:)]

Mike:
first off, thanx 4 ur compliments; when folks whose work i admire say nice things about my own stuff, it means a lot ! i have 2 say that it’s been the exposure to the higher standards of work i’m seeing on this site that has really kicked my efforts up a notch or 2, not 2 mention the great support, enthusiasm &
flow of info from everyone !

the next set of pix will probably feature 2 display bases i’ve already done, a desert scene and a winter one… i also have an urban combat zone dio in the planning stages, but haven’t decided whether to go WWii or Iraq yet.

and i do my homework (and most of my modeling) at the kitchen table ![:)]

thanx again !
frosty[:)]

Very NICE! Good job, Frosty! I guess you werent kidding when you said pink panther.

Wait… is that… is that the barracks behind those taks?[8D]

Frosty I really like your pictures! Chris showed me the pink Panther, and I liked it! Im looking for a tank to do now doubt it will be pink though. Hey you never know lol, BUT IT CERTAINLY WONT BE SAPHIRE BLUE AS MY HUSBAND suggested as some 1/2 [censored] attempt at humor!(on the first page! Yes dear I saw it! Your in trouble now! LOL) [}:)] I’ll save that color for my bug or something!

ROFL, Chris you are going to watch yourself from now on!!! [:D] [:p]

Frosty, the evil chuckle was all me. I was trying to type like you and give Robert a hard time too [}:)] [:p] [:D]

Eric

hey, eric !
LOL !!! u sound just like me when u type like that ! [:D][:D][:D]
and thanx again 4 helping 2 keep my pix up !!!
frosty[:)]

thanx TFL !
the pink Panther has really been a hit !
and if anyone thinks it’s pure fantasy, check out the pix posted by Captain Caveman on 11/16 in the Panther group build thread (sticky post)…
the third pic is of a real one ! (at least it looks pretty pink on my monitor!)
so hopefully the prototype police won’t b knocking down my door anytime soon …
looking forward 2 seeing ur model soon ![:D]
frosty[:)]

Hahaha I asked Robert if I sounded like you but he said I typed in too deep a voice!! LOL [:D] I tried to type it in a teenage girls voice, but I guess since people thought I was my dad on the phone since 6th grade it just wasn’t convincing! [:p]
No problem on posting the link for you Frosty! You just keep up the good work and I hope to see you post about placing in a contest one day soon! [8D]

Eric

Great looking kits! Are these kits Revell-Germany, or someone else? I especially like the Panzer IV! Keep up the good work.
Gip Winecoff

Frosty, i hope you don’t mind, but I want to do a diorama with a pink panther(thanx for the idea) and a barbie, maybe on on a beach----lol just kidding…but really, that would be very unique, having a 1:16 panther with a barbie wearing a little tank crewmans headset…oh yeah, and ken marching along with his MG42…

So how’d you do the track sag on the 1/72 scale? 1/35 has its own complications to achieve track sag but 1/72 has to be a bear. Are they indys? or vinyl? or were they molded like that? Thats the attention to detail I like. And that impresses me.

Mike

more info:

the panzer iv is a hasegawa 1/72 kit, as is the pink panther. the chieftain is by airfix., an old kit first billed as 1/76 and now sold as 1/72… same kit, tho’…

my confession:

i wish i could take credit for the track sag on the panzer iv, but the fact is that there r little pins molded into the underside of the fenders which automatically create the proper sag when u join the upper & lower hull pieces… a very well engineered kit IMHO ! normally i’d create the same effect w/ little pieces of styrene rod or toothpicks, but this time the kit did that work 4 me [:I]!
the trax r very nice glueable vinyl ‘rubber bands’ which 4 once were the rite length to go all the way around…i’ve had 2 hide a gap on most vinyl tracked afvs i’ve built so far, one reason why i really love side skirts, LOL !

phew, i feel better now …[:I]
but i hope that’s not the only thing to like about the model…[:(]

beav:
i don’t mind at all ! my own barbie dumped ken for GI Joe a long time ago, tho’…
ken worried too much about getting his hair mussed ! [:D][:D]
a panther just looks good no matter what color scheme it’s wearing, but i never expected the pink 2 be so becoming, or so well received !
it just goes 2 show u shouldn’t be afraid 2 try anything… i’d love to see that dio one day ![;)]
thanx 4 checking out my stuff !

allan:

thanx 4 checking out my pix !

i appreciate ur comments all the more coming from another small scale modeler… i still remember the pix u posted of ur M551 sheridan, which was quite impressive and made me want 2 work harder & do better myself !

and altho’ the structures behind the afvs r part of my n scale model railroad, it serves pretty well as a backdrop… and even little 1/72 scale tankers need to lie down and rest between missions ! [:D]

buraian-sama:

i forgot 2 say arigato 4 the warm welcome 2 my kaomise !
i’m kind of sad that u can’t see just how cute the panther looks… pretty in pink, 4 sure ! [;)]
Pink Panther on TV; talk about ur synchronicity… first it was tigers everywhere a couple of weeks ago, and now the pink panthers r proliferating ! [:D]

frosty-chan[:)]

And a fine kaomise it is!
Looking forward to more pix!
