Sorry I wasn’t here yesterday—I was photographing models at the Butch O’Hare show.
Tac, first, good luck on your hunting trip. Second, as has been said, all is definitely not lost. You’ve done a great job to this point, and one of the reasons to participate in a group build is exactly this—share the experience and have the community help you along.
So, here’s the video we did for hairspray chipping. We also have a rotten many stories about it, but this is easily accessible for you.
The advice you’ve received from other members had been good. And you have the right idea to test first on something other than the model you’re working on. I have a couple of paint pigs or scrap pieces of plastic I’ll use when trying something new or dusting off a technique that I haven’t used in a while.
Been working on a different project the past week or so. I’m trying to get some work done on my 1/32 Lancaster so I can get it done before next summer to hopefully have it at a few shows.. I’ve almost got the 3 turrets painted and various other parts installed. I’ll be back to working on the Iron Dome very soon.
I do have a build log on britmodeler, although my pictures have been removed.
It is! It’s called Sunshine Town. She’s just starting to hit her stride with it now. Schoolwork was keeping her busy. She was really happy to get to use the acetate to begin the glass roof. “Nothing a No. 11 blade can’t fix.”
Folks! Just 10 days to finish your models for the BAMM Group Build! There has been great progress already, but let’s keep going to finish by 11:59 PM on November 30. We can get there!
I’m hoping to get a lot of work done on the iron dome this weekend. Been pretty swamped with school as next week is finals week for me so I haven’t gotten much work done. Probably going to try to get decals on it either tonight or tomorrow night though I’ve got some touch up work I’ll need to do before that can happen.
