favorite AFV. the catch: no tanks

How about the M163. 6 20mm barrels. Firing 3,000 rounds a minutes. Got to hurt.

250 Alte, lots of great angles on it.

;No doubt about it, it would have to be the 1914 RNAS turreted pattern Rolls-Royce armoured car. It’s got great lines, more like a destroyer on wheels than an AFV

My first choice would be the Universal (Bren) Carrier. Just a great little machine and very versatile. Its one of the few vehicles that was in front line service from the begging to the end without any major changes in it. The Germans used many captured vehicles as well in many jobs as well.

Wow, talk about reviving a long-dead post. I vote for the Bradley.

The Sherman. Surely everyone’s all time favorite AFV that was not a tank.

Yap, it’s almost like a Volkswagen beetle without overhead protection.

WHat I drove in the Air FOrce. M-113 and M-706.

[2c] - I’d have to say some of J. Walter Christie’s prototypes/experiments from the 1920’s and 30’s. Some of those things were faster than the cars of the day. Christie was way ahead of everyone else.

Otherwise, I’d have to go with the US 5 ton Gun trucks of the Vietnam war - with the XM-734 Miniguns and a dual .50 mount or the M-55 Quad .50 mount in the rear. Awesome firepower in a “go most anywhere” 6x6 package.

Russian Tunguska, SA-6, Shilka, MT-LB, BMP series, pretty much any Russian cold-war era vehicle.

Mine is the Sdkfz 13, cool little saloon car from pre third reich days.

[#ditto]

I’ll vote for the “Thing” M50A1

When I was selecting my branch, I picked Infantry as my first choice and my NCO cadre told me what ever I do, don’t become a Bradley platoon leader. I asked why and he simply replied back “because it is one big silhouette.”

My favorite AFV probably Willys Jeep and German Hanomag.

Hands down the SdKfz 251 series.

Specifically the SdKfz 251/7 ausf. C.

SST

kinda funny how things have shifted over time. while this 3 something year old thread was around, none of those companies even mentioned the stryker in their release plans.

Tiger 1

M113, and Puma.

favorite AFV. the catch: no tanks.

Sherman? Willys MB Jeep? Tiger I?

you’re kidding right. An armored M151 Mutt circa Vietnam I could buy.

I would have to say the Nashorn - Hornisse SPG’s 88 fire power!

Ever since I stood near the massive Jagdtiger at Aberdeen…no contest! What a beast! (Jagdpanther in close second!)[bow]
