Wow! That looks cool!
How about Stingray?F-38?
I would suggest using F-21 since the US military seems to have skipped that one and it was around the time that this sort of project would have take place. As for the name, I like the Mako idea, but here are a few other ideas:
Moray (Eel, kind of a play on the Viper thing, but for the Navy)
Coral Snake (again… play on Viper nickname)
King Fisher (after the small fish eating bird)
or better still
Cobra (Revive the name from the YF-17 competition with the YF-16… since the USAF took the F-16 and the Navy morphed the YF-17 into the F-18… I think it is the perfect fit. Plus, it again plays off of the Viper… I guess I should get of the viper thing [:I])
This should be interesting.
EF/A-16N…hmmmm, what name? How about Dragonfly? After all, they’re like the falcon of the bug world.
Cheers,
John
Well, if she’s an aggressor, she’s likely taking on Hornets all the time, how about “Fly Swatter” or “Bug Zapper” as the nickname?
[#ditto] That’s a good one !!! Really interesting project…looking forward to seeing it completed.
Look Out Your Window NOW!!! The C.I.A. probebly thinks you have stolen the governments copie of it’s latest jet fighter. I’m kidding of course. It looks like a very interesting project that will catch alot of eyes.
Okay, this is where the building public get to contribute to this freak show.[:D]
Since the Hornet has strakes in front of the vertical stabs, does adding the ventral fins from the bottom of the F-16 to top as strakes go over the top? I am going to add strakes, but I want to know if these are too gawdy,in your opinion.
I put them on for the photo and will take a consenses at weeks end. Also,I’ve had a brainfreeze on the paint. I’m leaning toward the test colors of the Hornet.
Throw in a suggestion if you like. Please keep in mind that ,even though I have an airbrush,I haven’t used it. I am very good with cans and masking tape,so fire away.
A cross between the F-16 & F-18 ? How about…Mig-29 ?[;)]
what an awsome project cant wait to see it finished ( my two favorite birds F-16 and F-18)

seevee,you crack me up,Comrade![(-D]
I believe the F-21 was used before. Remember the agressor aircraft the Navy leased from the Israeli Airforce the Kfir the Pentagon gave it the designation F-21.
Yea,Kfir is Israeli for Desault Mirage.[:o)]
Here are the finished scratch built wheel wells. It looks like the name suggestions have tapered off and I have narrowed it down to three.Sea Falcon,Yellow Jacket, and Stingray.( Trigger 74,back me up,but I think Stingray has been used before)
Well Eddie since the names have tapered off let me get one more in. I think you should call her “Texas Sweet” and as a throw back add some nose art with an old time pin-up! Take care buddy and keep up the good work.
Traintrak,
You’re tuggin’ on the old heart strings, pardner! Since I’ve settled on the nickname of Skeeter,I might as well call it Texas Skeeter cuz they get that big down here! Thanks for checkin’ by.
A note to show the status of my Skeeter.Still haven’t decided on the official title or the paint yet. For that matter, the decals either.[:)] Got the primer coat and gear ready to install. I am going to load it with a couple of drop tanks,HARM’s and Sidewinders, so I guess I’m going to have to “commission” a unit from which to operate[;)] Maybe I’ll switch from an aggressor to a Wild Weasel outfit.[8D]
Hey eddie I have one thing to say AWESOME but how bout this a cross between an F-16/F-14 im designing one right now on paper, I came up with the idea about a week ago while talking to my friend.
A Falcon with variable geometry wings. Now that’s cool! If I wasn’t so far along,I might be tempted to add a pair to mine.I have a set of 1:72 Tomcat wings that would do the job.( this bird is 1:48) Good luck and keep us posted.[:)]
or you could use an f-16 fuselage (no wings) and ad the f-14 wing with the engine pods and , voila!, a tri engined jet fighter!!!
