I still haven’t decided what I’m going to build! [8-)]
Most likely the FIM-92 Stinger and a…if I get the time. So many GB’s, so lil time. [:(]

Waynec…looking good!
I’m gonna make a start on my Wirbelwind today, I must say that I like the idea of the Logos indicating how many builds are completed.
Cheers

wayne, nice start. I have always liked that vehicle and even though its not my usual sort of armour build, one of these days I think I might just get one of those.
Nice to have the Sgt York on board Greg and looking forward to seeing some pics of the Wirbelwind Tony. I pinched that idea from dupes 1,000 road wheels GB.
Great start, Wayne!
Now I have not seen that with a Tamiya kit before, the different coloured hull. Is this normal for their 48th kits.
Yes, the hulls are made from die cast metal.
Now you say that, I do recall that being mentioned. But I thought that was grey plastic in the photo.
just got back from my LHS and saw this while I was there and thought I would enter it into the GB.
1/700 HobbyBoss USS Momsen. An Arleigh Burke class missile destroyer with the AN/SPY-1 D Radar
Shiv, I was hoping we could get this sort of thing as well as the expected Flak guns and so on. I just goggled it to be certain, this is so not my area, and the radar is defiantly in, with ship attached of course. And I found out the Momsen’s keel was laid down on my birthday, so its doubly in.
Eagle is on holiday at the moment, but I am sure he will add you when he can spare a few moments from enjoying himself with family.
I know, how dare he.
WHAT!!! On vacation right at the opening of duck seaon? Does he have a swimming pool? If so we need to fill it up with decoys than tell him we will be over for target practice
Well he has gone down to Florida, so maybe he will be taking out Daffy in person.
Take out Daffy in person hmmmm? But hey laughing boy no more buwwets
He should have turned right at Albuquerque.
Added some more to the the hull of the Wirbelwind tonight, with some hatch covers and other bits. Then, the underside of these 1/48 Tamiya kits always sports heaps of ejection pin marks and some other cyclindrical marks that aid the molding process I think. you also get a wide gap where its easy to see into the hull, maybe 5mm wide. I shaved off the plastic marks used to guide the skirts, as this one doesn’t have them, then lined all the imperfections with thin plastic card. I’ve sketched in where the gaps would be on the plastic card for easier visibility. Looks a lot better and I just had to fill 4 ejection pin marks on each rear fender instead of about 20.
The next step will be to add some zimmerit to the sides of the superstructure using some putty. Thought I’d get to it tonight, but didn’t. I am thinking of ordering turned metal gun barrels too.
Cheers
Tony
