Dragon Me 262B-1a/U1 finished

With this build, my “Fly by Night” project is finished.

This is Dragon’s 1/48 Me 262B-1a/U1 Nachtjager (nightfighter). Like the single seater, the leading edge slats were removed and glued in the open position. The wheel well has also been wired, and the landing gear plumbed. I made the nose antennas from brass tube and wire. I added a couple wires to trhe control panel that’s attached to the forward canopy. The wheels are the kit’s vinyl parts. They’ll be replaced with resin when I can get some. Squadron doesn’t list them in their online catalogue anymore.

Hope you like it ! Sharing the progress of this project with you has been a privilage !

And here’s a shot of all three Ladies of the Evening.

Now to figure out what to build next . . .

Let me be again the first to say,… WOW GREAT JOB. Amazing what you can do.

The skies the limit,

V.A.

Great job as always Pix.

Outstanding job! I’m am truly impressed. I’m not much of a WWII builder but, seeing your’s built makes me want to build one that I have sitting on the shelf. Superb Pixilater!

outstanding work pix! are the vinyl wheels that come with the dragon and trimaster (i assume they are the same ones) kits not any good? just wanna know cause ive got a couple trimaster 262s.

As your first Me-262… awesome… what a great job!..

Like usual an amazing job Pix!

Great job Pix!

Very good. Again I love the detail. Cant wait to see the next one.
Maybe you should build a B-24 or something big. You know a bomber or something.
Well just idea.

I second the motion for you to build something huge. Something so ludacristly (word?) gigantic it looks like something I’d build! (Four engine minimum. The He-177 don’t count.)

Seriously, though, awesome work, as always. Your stuff is always great to look at.

Of the three kits, this one is my favorite! Simply outstanding work Pix. You’ve raised the bar for all of us.Thanks for posting the photos of all three.

Thank you Vintage, falcon, A6Efan, ghettochild, zeroenna, rrmelend, lerxst1031, ygmodeler, Lucien, and Dragonfly !

ghettochild - the wheels from one that I built about ten years ago have split. It’s nearly impossible to remove the mold parting line, since the vinyl’s so soft. Resin replacements are more permanent.

ygmodeler and Lucien - I have a ProModeler B-17G (Cheyenne tail teuuet & PE), Monogram B-26 (limited edition with resin), and a Monogram B-24 in the pile. My father flew a B-24D on the Ploesti Mission, so I won’t be building that one until I can get the info to build his. I have a B-29 that’s been stalled because of paint (long story). Since these pics, the fuselage has been closed and the wings partially painted.

Thanks again !

Beautiful build Pix. Excellent work as usual from your bench. Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Rick

thats one excellent lookin bird ya got there

Thanks Rick and gunney !

Glad you enjoyed looking at her !

Pix, beauty! I love the wiring and the cammo once again. I think this one is my favorite of the three, it looks really great. Now I need to go and work on my models, I’m all inspired and ready to go. Keep building the good stuff.

Thanks maddafinga !

This was my favorite also, which is why I saved it for last. Glad that it served as inspiration for you !

Sweet !

Chris

Thank you Bossman !

The camo and twin cockpits make for a different Swallow, don’t they?

Thanks again !

Like that b-29 pix. Get some more paint or something like that to get rid of the problem.
