I would have to agree, I cannot play Cliffs of Dover at this time because of the bugs, the joystick problem especially. I would probably need to move up to the latest OS for my computer.
Needless to say, IL-2 FB is still running great and I love it with all of the skins available to fly the aircraft that I have a model of. Right now with Kokoda Trail, I am using a skin for “Air-A-Cutie”, Some of the skin artists are really talented. Offline campaigns will come equipped with skins for the aircraft involved, but you can always use whatever you have on hand. I am plannig to build a P-47D razorback as “Silver Lady” from the 56th FG, and I already have that skin to fly with to keep me interested.
“When Tigers Could Fly” is an excellent offline Flying Tigers Campaign, and “Guadalcanal Diary” for the USMC during the early part of that campaign.
I could still play IL-2 FB for years to come in its present state.
I ve flown this sims from the time they came out started with CFS 1,2,3 the futher they went the worst they got but IL2 seem to be better if you fly on Hyper Lobby look me up ST_SkyFalcon we have a room there skytanks I am the XO.
Rise of Flight is a WWI Air combat simulator that is quite nice. It is also free.
You get the full game with two flyable planes for free. I would recomend getting the Rise of Flight - Iron Cross edition though as it contains more usable planes. It can be found on sale, online for about $20 regullarily (normally $39).
Further planes are $7-15 but go on sale for half price all the time, and volume dicounts are given too.
I only discovered it 2 months ago and have been having a lot of fun with it.
Several days ago I got Il-2 Surmovik 1946 ( The combined '46, FB, AEP, PF cd) and man! Definitely worth the $3 I paid for it a Half Price Books. [Y] Working on Patching it and modding it…
