Don’t blame me, someone in another post asked about what Jeep kits were available. I just listed the 1/35 scale kits because they were easiest to run down. If I had time, I would have listed 1/72, 1/76, 1/48 and 1/24-1/25 scale Jeep kits. I had nothing to do with the decision to stick to the list I created.
Am is after market products like extra resin parts or jerry cans stowage figures etc and PE is Photo etched parts again extra add ons to enhance realism.
Ok, forgive me as I’m still a newbe at modeling. Photo etched parts, do they replace certain parts that come with a kit? Or do they just add a degree of realism to the kit? Lastly, what are some good manufacturers of PE parts?
They do both. Sometimes they add realism like replacing the molded on grill with an actual scale metal grill. Other times the replicate missing parts like the Jeep windshield hold down latches. A lot of times they replace fenders that are too thick to be in scale with a paper thin photo etched fender.
Eduard it the king of PE due to their wide product line. The best PE comes from Aber, but their PE sets are extremely comprehensive. Many sets include working hinges to position doors and hatches in the open position.
A few othe manufacturers are ExtraTech, Part, Verlinden, Airwaves, On the Mark, KMY, Lion Roar, Gum Ka, Fine Molds, Show Modelling amongst others.
