I have been wanting to build Chitty for a few years. I also have never found a kit, so decided to build it on my own. I am kitbashing a Lindburg 1910 Ford model T
Mock up
Boat section
“roof” being marked to be turned into rear seat
Front section cut in half and reglued to fit the pictures.
Corgi put one of those out in die cast a number of years ago. Now you need to put in an engine. What kind? This is in 1/16 scale so it may be difficult. To you plan to modify the Ford T engine?

I am using the ford engine that came with the kit. I am not sure if I am going to open the hood to display it. The wife really wants the wings on it I am thinking about the rubber boat configuration.
I wish I could tell you how utterly THRILLED I am with your project! This is pure modeling nirvana–when someone takes an ordinary kit and, with a little bit of ingenuity and determination, produces something utterly unique and personal!
Your project is coming along spectacularly! I only wish you could get this mass-produced! I’d be ordering mine today!
WOW [:O], awesome job so far. I can’t wait to see how this one comes out looking. Are you going to build it with the wings extended or without the wings extended?
neat, if i were braver, i’d follow you and build one too. i think the most identifiable version would be with wings, so probably the best idea. you could always do a second one as a boat. [:O]
