Cars (and Trucks) 2024-25

That’s some really nice work there!

The engine, the seats, the RUST on things. Some stellar work my friend.

I made progress!

The fit isn’t the best so hopefully with a lot of glue and some rubber bands everything will come out okay.

Progress should up to painting should be pretty quick. It really depends on how much photoetch I decide to do.

I haven’t replied in here in a while.

I got distracted and started building something else.

Now I am back on my 1971 Skyline Sedan for this build. I am wet sanding and polishing the body.

My process…
wet sand 1500 grit
wet sand 2000 grit
wet sand 2500 grit
wet sand 3000 grit
coarse compound with a 1.5" diameter wool wheel on a rotary tool
polishing compound with a 1" diameter foam pad on a rotary tool
Then wax as needed

This photo is after all the wet sanding and the coarse compound. I still need to do the polishing compound.

Greysnake, that is looking like one comfy ride! Almost ready for a road trip.

Ctruss53, a lot of work going into that body and it shows. Can’t wait to see the final polish.

That’s one of my favorite modeling tool when the pieces don’t fit the way they should. Rubber bands are probably the most underrated modelling tool.

I see I have family on this forum.

More like a swim! I wonder if it floats like the real thing?

Lol, either way you would be cruisin’ in style.

Time for the weekend update.
Worked on the interior some more, adding some debris. A towel thrown over the steering wheel.

Got some spark plug wires on and started building a squirrel’s nest.

Added the trim around the vehicle.

Dirt on the windshield.

A few more finishing touches and this car will be done.

Nice, I especially love the dirty windows!

Thank you, getting there.

Hello everyone, last day of May! Short week at work so not to much accomplished this week. I did print off some mechanics.

It is a nice file came with five figures and 50 pieces to fill out a garage.
Repainted the bench seat, got the “glass” in and the dashboard.

Front grill is in place as well. Next week I think I should be ready to get the body on the frame and do finishing touches.

Really love the green color. Very deep and rich. The mechanics turned out really nice.

Thank you, appreciate the comments and any tips.

Love the mechanics also and can’t wait to see how they turn out.

For the purpose of the GB I am calling this done.

Still planning on putting this in a Dio, but that will be on another blog.

They turned out great! You took the group build literally. A car AND a truck. Awesome.
