I’m working on three of them right now. The larger one is Airfix’s Spitfire Mk. IX, which is ready for decals. The smaller one with the two color camo is Airfix’s 1/72 Spitfire Mk. V, all ready for a coat of Future. And the last one is Hasegawa’s 1/72 Spitfire Mk. IX, which has been converted to a Mk. VIII (the kit has both sets of parts), ready for masking and a second coat of paint.
Daywalker- It is a particular affliction, isn’t it? Still… could be worse… [;)]
southern dragon- LOL [:D]
Wulf- Thanks for the kind words!
tigerman- Actually, yes. [;)] Right now I only have room for 1/72 and 1/48 scale aircraft. But we’ll be building an addition on to our house, and part of it will be for my models. So 1/32 will be included, as will…
Wirraway- …1/24th scale! Don’t think I’ve forgotten that kit? They’ll all be game! (Have you built that one?)
ModelNerd- Thanks so much!
wing_nut- Thanks very much! Be proud of your -190 obsession! [;)]
Camo looks good so far as does the overall construction. they all look clean and tight. Juggling 3 spitfires at the same time now that will keep you busy. My favorite allied aircraft is the spitefire. IMO it was the only allied fighter that could stand toe to toe with the best the luftwaffe had. I seem to have the same problem, but refuse to seek help. Beside the 4 you see here I also have 2 on display.
and 6 yet to be built. Doesn’t the saying go Those who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. based on that I don’t see your problem.
Daywalker, with that many 109’s and 190’s I think you need to seek a 12 step program[:)]
Oh wait a second I build alot of those too.
If I remember correctly the top 3 selling aircraft models are the 109, 190, and spirtfire. So no suprise you see alot of them around.
If you suspect that you have the Spitfire bug, remain calm. For it is perfectly normal to be in awe of this great fighter. There is no cure for this affliction, although regular building of Spitfire models can ease the syptoms.
