Hey guys, I wanted to share my second build with you.
It’s already some time ago that I finished it, but luckily I’ve taken a lot of pictures during the process.
The base model was pretty easy to build and I did not add any third party parts this time apart from 3d printed tracks.
Next up was the base coat and I decided to go for a very late war Gruppe Müncheberg inspired camo scheme. Contrary to my regular workflow I started with a basecoat of Olivgrün, which I quite licked to be honest.
After letting the paint dry for a few days I started masking for the next batch of paint, being Dunkelgelb. I should have masked of a few more spots to be more “accurate”, but I wanted to show of more of the green, since I quite liked the look.
The next step was Rotbraun, so I masked of a more or less thin part of the Dunkelgelb.
That’s what the Panther looked like after removing the tape, touching up some bad areas, applying a pin wash with thinned acrylics by airbrush and finally added the decals and a coat of satin finish varnish.
Next up I tried the planned weathering on the road wheels and started the slight chipping all over the tank. My plan was making this Panther look quite dusty as imagined it breaking out during the battle of Berlin. The chipping was kept to a moderate level, since this tank would’ve been probably only a few days in battle after leaving the factory (at least in my imagination).
Then finally I went crazy with the dust weathering. Was maybe a bit much but I liked it ![]()
A bit later I decided that a nice figure might be a good addition to the tank, so I went through my stash and found this nice tank commander from Alpine Models.

And this is the final result. I might add a vignette or diorama base in the future, but currently I’m occupied with a few other projects so therefore this will have to wait. Additionally my display cabinet is already getting cramped, so…

Hope you enjoyed this short build log ![]()
If you are interested in how I painted the figure, you can watch the two videos I uploaded to YouTube showcasing how I painted the face and the camo jacket. I won’t post them here, since I don’t want to self-promote, but you can find me there under the name “superflowuspaints” there.
