Best Stringbag?

…in 72nd scale? You know, the Swordfish???

What’s “1/72nd scale”?

Best to worst;

  1. Frog (where to get it?)

  1. Revell (Matchbox)

  1. Airfix

Seems that MODELCRAFT took over the FROG molds…what about PE sets, resin engines AM decals—wanna do a Taranto a/c…

Airwave’s do a PE set (AC72-178);

As do ACE (7218);

There is also another bunch of stuff, including decals & resin here;

Also notice that there is a future release mentioned for an Airfix new tool 1/72 Stringbag - AX04053, but who knows when…;

Never dealt with Hannants—anyone have good experiences w/ 'em?

Yeah, I’ve heard about the new release but given the state of the economy on model manufacturers and the fact that not even a projected date was given—who knows if it will ever see the light of day…

Corgi makes two or three different versions in 1/72 scale - they even have the rigging wires and 3 aircrew already painted and ready to fly off to battle! [:$]

Best ones ever!!! Multiple colour options, light but very good tensile strength, easy to wash & they can be balled up & thrown in a jacket pocket - 1:1 scale. A must-have for anyone that plans on visiting the vendor’s tables at the next big show.

EDIT - Oh, sorry, I might be in the wrong thread with these stringbags. I’ll just leave now… [:$]

Couldn’t you just build the 1/48 from Tamiya and display it further away than usual?? [^o)]

They’re pretty good to deal with & seem to have endless amounts of stock.

From a UK perspective they’re pretty much huge, have several manufacturers tied up & keep some pretty obscure & hard to get items.

Do they take Paypal?

i heard Dragon is releasing one…as soon as the instructions are proof-read…

I wish they would—I’d figure 'em out…f

Here’s a test shot:

Mike

LMAO…you are awarded another Cat-Head for that clever quip…

Actually, that is a Swordfish fished out of Taranto Harbor after the famous raid…That’s the plane I want to model: A Taranto attacker…anyone know if any decals are available for those a/c…I also read that the bottoms of the a/c were painted in balck—true or false?

Manny gets his new Dragon Stringbag kit home…

Chuckle…I’m giving out Cat-Heads like they are going out of style the past couple of days…

You know. It’s the new 1/144th scale.

You want to build a 1/72nd scale biplane? Are you out of your friggin mind? Get one of those beautiful 1/32nd scale beauties from Tamiya, or is that Trumpetter, and build something we can all see and enjoy picking apart (I’m sure we will be able to find something wrong with it. We live for that.).

Yes…
