Battle Stations!!! Post your modeling workspace!

Every thing looks great PJ

I like your selection of models. If only we can get you working on the models instead of your house. Hehe.

This topic is a perennial favorite.

Here is mine…

I was driving around one day years ago and saw a family throwing out the easel, so I asked if I could take it, and salvaged it to add to my bench.

Here is a recent solution for storing my ever-increasing stash of paints:

My stash is stored down there with the bench, and in my spare room upstairs. Guests have to sleep on the couch.

Now there are two things I am highly jealous of: a couple of great display cases, and a ton of great kits. If you ever consider giving some away, you know where to look![Y]

You guy’s need to start a petition, and “DEMAND” that my wife leave me alone for a day … or two …

( I can’t have her “Done in” … She cook’s , I eat … I like this arrangment. )

I " L O V E " that display case !!!

I have been searching through the local second hand shop’s for one … but they all think their cabinet’s are made of “Un-Obtanium”. $$$$$$$$$$$ !!!

I may have to build my own… ( Thumb print included. )

I had one , many year’s ago. Dont know what became of it, but I used it the same way you do. Reference material.

( Those guy’s on your bench look like their about to “Start Something” ! )

Pretty good arrangement.

Thanks. The guy had a bunch for sale and wish I had picked up a second one. Building your own is the next best thing.

Timmy, I spy a couple of kits in your stash I haven’t seen since the 70s - the Glow-in-the-Dark Witch kit and the old Monogram 1926 Mack Bulldog Tank Truck. I’ve been looking and wanting to do another Monogram 1926 Mack Bulldog Tank Truck. The first one I did when I was 12. It’s long gone now.

The glow in the dark Witch is actually two kit’s in one. There’s a complete set of tree’s of glow in the dark part’s, and they included a second set of tree’s, molded in dark Brown.

So you can actually build two kit’s from it !

Way back in 1975 ( i think ?) I built the Mack Log truck ( I don’t know what became of it)

I would LOVE to get them all.

I remember there was a log truck, tank truck, dump truck… but I think there was at least two more… not sure.

Would you believe it-some of those figures have been in the same spot on that bench for sixteen years, ever since I moved into my house and set the bench up? And before that, they were “in progress”.

I have two main collections of toy soldiers-54mm figures finished in a traditional gloss finish. One is the Seven Years War, and the other is the Kaiser’s Army/Berlin 1910. I set up the Berlin 1910 collection under the Christmas tree. And every year, I find some figures squirreled away somewhere, that I started painting and set aside for whatever reason. Most recently, I found a tray with seventeen figures on it, all started, some nearly finished. So that’s my project for the next two weeks, to finish them and add them to the display.

Now, if I could just finish all of the scale models I’ve started over the years…

All these spaces remind me of Morrison’s third law. No matter how much space you have you will only have 2 square feet of workspace.

PJ, Those are one of those sashes that you look at and say what do I feel like building, hmmm, how bout a plane? Ok plane, what era? Hmmm how about modern? Ok modern, what nationality etc, etc and you have it.

2 Sq feet, blimey, some one is being spoilt. If i end up with 2 Sq inches i feel i have left somthing out.

That makes me chuckle.

LOL Steve that happens every time I open the doors to see what kit to grab and work on.[*-)]

Yep, I sit perched on that chair, holding the work over my lap, and using a space about six inches square in front of me on the bench. I try to clear more space, but as soon as I clear a spot, something else ends up there.

My room isn’t all complete yet for one I don’t have any of the trim up around the windows or doors (It drives my wife crazy so I might just keep it this way a bit longer) I’m also going to be putting up shelfs around the 1st of the year. Here is my bench and some of the stash.

Work bench 1

Here is on the other wall with all my paint and spray booth that I can vent out the window via the piece of plywood with at a dryer vent in it (going to simplify that soon) Work bench 2

Another look at the stash more is in the closet. Work bench 3

Also have my gaming PC in here (I need a better chair) Work bench 4

My new digs. It’s still a work in progress. The movers broke my main bench so I’m forced to improvise for now.

Nice! It’s roomy, neat, and it appears organized. I like it. I am trying that sort of thing too. It seems to help me stay focused and motivated. My previous bench was a disaster and I hated to work at it.
