Looking forward to seeing both of those builds.
Not sure how this works as I haven’t done a group build here in a long time. Do we start our own thread somewhere or add here? This is my start shot…
You start here, and if you wish, you can start a build thread in the appropriate category, though it’s not required.
That’s a beautiful Blenheim! Want to see what your impressions of it are.
Gary
So far so good…I don’t know tons about the Blenheim but detail seems pretty good.
I’m stoked to watch this one come together, @Jeeves. I have the 72nd version in my stash and have been considering “upgrading” the scale to 48th.
That’s a classic, @GAF. Here’s hoping it’s not too much of a chore!
OK here is my entry, straight from the Storage Unit of Doom.
I had started this kit many years ago and promptly made a hash of the machine gun openings in the wing leading edge. It looks they have been fixed, so all is well
Got my entry this morning.
Now to decide how I want to mark it. The kit includes decals include markings for Jagdgeschwader 2 “Richthofen” for Helmet
Wick’s aircraft.
Or I was thinking about getting aftermarket decals and going with another JG.2 aircraft White 1.
Oh and trying to decide if I want to pick up a PE set or not. I haven’t finished an airplane since 2018 and my recent attempts have been lacking so I don’t know if I want to over complicate things.
Grey Snake, if anything pick up one of those 3-D instrument panels. I think the Tamiya kit is pretty good as-is without going too crazy with the aftermarket. I noticed some of the 1990-era Tamiya aircraft kits had blank IPs with no decals.
I just ordered an IP for my Spitfire, and that will be it. No aftermarket wheels, exhausts, or lowered flaps.
I looked up Quinta Studio for the cockpit and the only sellers that have ones for them are in Serbia. The Tamiya kit doesn’t have a black instrument panel.
Going to go with this Eduard set. Bonus since it has seat belts which are a vast improvement over the decals ones in the kit.
Would like to add a pilot since the kit included one is very soft in detail.
Red Fox is another good company for interior details…
That Tamiya 109 is a nice kit. I built it just over a year ago. You’ll enjoy it!

I’m updating my build - still doing a 1/72 Arma Hurricane Mk.I but I’ve found markings that will allow me to build it as P3966 VY-X, which ‘Paddy’ Hemingway flew during the Battle of Britain.
That’s awesome! It can be very rewarding to build a specific airframe with knowable history.
I’ll be building Canadian RAF F/O Willie McKnight’s Gloster-built P2961, the distinctive decals for which are included in this HobbyBoss kit. After seeing Vintage Wings of Canada’s Hurricane Mk XII painted up in this scheme at Airventure 2024, and reading up on McKnight’s story, I knew I had to build one.
Looks awesome, Tom. Looking forward to seeing the build! I’m a little behind on my Ki-61 and hope to finish that this week or next, then will begin looking at the Hurricane. Only thing is my weekends are booked for 5 of the next 6 weeks, so I’m not sure how much I’ll work on it before May, but will definitely try to start on the front office.
Same here timeline-wise. Forcing myself to finish up a couple other projects before I kick this one off. Plus, with April comes spring turkey hunting season, which always shelves my other hobbies for a while!
I opened up the Defiant box and found that I already had purchased a set of AM Browning guns for this build.
OK Fine… I do My Revell 1/32 He 111
Thats going to be a pretty big model.
