Wow! Y’all have been very busy! @Zvezda1980 I love the Emil and the spit! Beautiful work.
I was finally able to get back to the Beaufort. Summer tends to interrupt my modelling. The last time I posted, I was struggling to attach the engines to the wings due to what I believe is an error in the instructions. I was able to correct that.
Was a sad day when Vintage Wings sold their Corsair. Was at the air show when it flew out of their airfield for the last time. I’m going to search and pull up the photos. The Hurricane was flying with the Corsair and a P-51.
Small update
Got the missing horizontal stab support built up. However, during install of the stab I ran into an issue with symmetry. The tail is twisted ever so slightly resulting in either stabs with different angles in relation to the vertical stab, or one horizontal stab higher off the ground than the other.
It’s too late to try to de-warp the fuselage so I made the decision to try to split the difference. One stab will sit a bit lower than the other and the angles are slightly different between the two, but I’m going to call it good enough for this build. Im hoping to get some paint on it within the next couple weeks.
And no, I am not using the standard RLM colors. Unfortunately I do not have any and did not want to purchase them for what is most likely my only German plane build for a long while.
Speaking of limitations, I am building this during my lunch break at work and was wondering how I was going to paint this. Well, my daughter bought this for me a few years back
A Worx MakerX portable airbrush.
I played around with it at home and just preferred using my regular airbrushes. So, I thought I would try it in my office. Not the best, but not to bad either.
OK: I’m done with my Japanese tank. How about I add a 1/48 Airfix Hurricane I for the Battle of Britain Group Build. I’ve got Sptfires - including the highly regarded Tamiya Spitfire I - but I don’t have a Hurricane. And while Sptfires were fighting it out with LW fighters, Hurricanes were chewing up LW bombers. It was a flawed plane with a very limited future, but in the summer of 1940 it was just what the doctor ordered. I’ll have the first post up in a few days.

I did some very careful sanding with fine wet/dry sandpaper. Mostly to knock off the high spots. I left the residue in the lower spots and put a bit more cement on the fill the divots. It’s not perfect, but also not horrible.
