Man, I can’t believe my luck, UPS just dropped off my new Trillion Air compressor, rang the bell and as I’m openning the door they drive away. I bring it in the house and notice the box top is open a bit and the cardboard is tore on the side. I take the compressor out and the top of the compressor is smashed as if it was dropped on it’s head. Shhhhhhhhh is I pissed.
I call BearAir right away and they said UPS will come back and pick it up and when they get comfirmation they will ship another compressor and that they are sorry. yada yada yada.
At this point I don’t even feel like looking at any models…think I’ll find a nice war movie and watch it on my 72" HD DLP and forget this whole mess for now…
ARGH! I hope you tear a strip off the UPS guy when he comes to pick it up. Doesn’t matter if it’s the same guy or not, he’ll pass it on. Somebody obviously dropped the box, probably the idiot that drove away.
Ooooooo and to add to your Damaged Compressor. About a week or 2 ago, I got my 1st Spray Booth $$$$$$ and when UPS droped it off the box was smashed in and when I got it in the house and opened it, the bottom of the Spray Booth was bent. BUT, I was in luck. I could fix it and it looks like new now. Sooooooooooo to all the FedEx and UPS people. pleaseeeeeee be more careful

In the warehouse the guys use the forklifts to play floor hockey with our packages.
The drivers have a lottery going for who can damage the most packages, sneak away, and piss off the customers.
I can’t fault BearAir and they were helpful and also had the lowest prices I’ve found so far for AB stuff. They did say that they will put the original compressor box into another box with extra packing to help in this shipment.
HobbyLinc will refund the price for the defective T & C AirStar compressor that was my first compressor. It was supposed to be new but had a 2004 mfg date on it and could only go up to 14psi. They asked if I wanted another one and I told them no, I ordered a new one from another source.
DixieArt is sending another 1520 spray booth since the first one that arrived had the fan off balance and made a loud noise and vibrated real bad when turned on.
My luck so far in trying to learn airbrushing isn’t so good, I dropped my first AB and messed up the valve assembly, fixed that and then found out the T & C compressor was bad. While waiting for the new compressor my 1520 spray booth arrived and when I turned it on, found that the fan blade was out of balance causing the loud noise and vibration. Called DixiaArt and they wanted me to try and fix it and I said no, it’ll void the warranty.
So the saga continues, I sit here with a couple hundred dollars in models, modeling supplies and about a grand in AB supplies including the compressor, waiting on that new compressor, think I’ll go watch another movie and thank God I have a understanding wife.
The compressor will be delivered on 7-3 and I’m holding my breath that it makes it undamaged this time.
I called hobbylinc again, right after I shipped them that T & C compressor yesterday on my dime and they said that the shipping charges will be reimbursed. I will wait and see.
I also called DixieArt asking where my 1520 is and they said it will be dropped shipped from the mfg and I should get it after the 4th sometime.
And to top off my luck so far, my new laptop which is less then 30 days old needs to go back to HP for work due to a display issues, the wife and I bought matching dv8240us Pavillions and hers is fine.
I’m glad my wife is such an understanding sweetheart and at least our new Toshiba 72HM195 HD DLP with the HD-A1 DVD player works great, Not really feeling like working on any models for a while and so will just enjoy some more movies, nothing like High Def movies.
I’ll tell you, if there was Bad Luck, you would have it all, LOL kidding…
I had a order drop shiped from DixieArt and it took all most 3 week to get here. I hope to all works out for you. I got all the items I ordered and I think I will need a new air hose. The hose that came with the compressor is all curly and when you stretch it , it pulls back. O Well, you can’t have everything… Or can you, hehehehe

If the hose your talking about is the large diameter one that comes with the compressor it’s useless. I have the same hose, the box claimed a six foot hose but you would be hard pressed to get that stupid thing to stretch three feet without snapping back!
If you have a Michael’s or Hobby Lobby they should sell thin tube vinyl hoses that are much better, otherwise it’s back to Dixie Art or Bear Air to buy a special airbrush hose. I prefer the thin vinyl ones over the braided hoses, which feel too heavy for my liking.
Even if the HD-TV starts going on the fritz I got that 4 year in-home warranty. We shopped around for a good HD DLP TV and found the Toshiba to be the best bang for the buck and that buydig.com had the lowest price for it. Once you go High Def, regular tv just isn’t the same anymore and the new HD DVD players even make regular dvd movies look better.
Think I’ll go watch “Dam Busters” followed by a few John Wayne movies…
Bgrigg, I have a Michael’s near me. I will have to head over there tomorrow and see what they have. So your saying just get a plain vinyl hose. I have 2 black curly hoses that came with the compressor. Should I replase both ?

It might help if I explain my setup. I use a garage style compressor that is outside in a box to cut down the noise a bit. From there I run unregulated air in a 50’ x 3/8" pneumatic hose to my home built spray booth. That connects with quick connectors to a 6’ x 3/8" hose mounted to my booth. At the “business” end of that hose I have a regulator and a moisture trap with the thin vinyl hose attached to the moisture trap, and my AB connects to that. It sounds more complicated than it is! I’ve deliberately made mine so that I can disconnect and attach pneumatic nailers and such (which is how I justified the price to my lovely wife, who I suspect knew precisely what I was up to!).
You will need to adjust to the situation you have to deal with. The hoses aren’t totally useless, they carry air after all. Depending on how far away your compressor is from your booth you might want to use one of the hoses. Or you might want to connect straight to the compressor. That’s up to your comfort level.
Yeah, they’re the same crappy hoses! I agree one new hose will do fine. You’ll find it rolled up, possibly with an elastic around it, and it will have a tendency to want to “curl” back to position. If that happens, just soak the hose in hot (not boiling) water, keeping the open ends out of the water, for five minutes or until pliable. Then try to unbend it, perhaps by taping it flat. If you do get water inside the hose, it won’t hurt it, but you’ll want to make sure the water is completely gone before using your airbrush. After waiting so long you won’t want to wait any longer!
I’m planning on putting something kind of like that together in my remodeled camper trailer/hobby room. I’ll use the air hose that came with the compressor up to the regulator on the bench. I’m going to get the braided hose with the quick disconnect on the end (Createx) so I can swap different brand AB’s coming off the other end of the regulator.
My booth is smaller and homemade, not so nice looking. I’m trying to figure a way to incorporate a drying booth into right now so I can keep it as dust free as possible.

Here is a pic of the hose the compressor came with. Look at the end of the hose here that the A/B hooks up too.
The little piece in the middle, that is the part that if I screw in to tight no air will go though. I look at my LHS and they had a Badger Air Hose. I got it and it did not fit right.
Anyone know what brand of hose I will need to get for my Omni 4000 A/B ?
I’m not familiar with the hose/connector shown on the left side of the picture, but Badger and T & C use the same Badger airhose. The connector on the end of the hose is small enough to fit on either airbrush perfectly with no adapter. I have a Badger 100LG and a T&C Omni 4000. Same hose.
