Pretty much, though you probably won’t need to use both Windex and Simple Green. Unless the water in your area is soft water, I would recommend getting some distilled water from your grocer (gallon jug should be about a buck!) to rinse with as most water will eventually leave calcium deposits. NOT something you want inside your shiny new toy!
Bud - congrats!! You finally got it all figured out… yeah I second the distilled water, and I wouldn’t take it all apart to put it in… after spraying the windex or simple green through… (I recommend the Windex over the simple green simply because it is not as noxious!), wipe out the cup till dry then fill 1/3 with distilled water and shoot that through, wipe out the cup again and that’s it!
I only dissasemble my brush like that when doing a thorough cleaning, either by soaking the tip/head in lacquer thinner or most of the time, putting then in the ultrasonic… same with the needle, I don’t remove it until the end of the night to wipe it… The less you unassemble and assemble it the less chance of a broken or lost part…
That jug of distilled water makes a nice paint target when learning your airbrush when shot over with Krylon primer… once filled up you can go back and primer it again. Everytime I come on a technique I haven’t tried before, out comes the jug!!!
I’m just paying what I’ve learned forward. Everything I’ve learned about airbrushing I’ve discovered here on these forums. People like Scott (MusicCity), Tom (tho9900), and MikeV, as well as many, many others, have somehow managed to teach this old dog some new tricks. And I enjoy passing on what little I’ve learned!
