thanks chris… lots of good stuff in there…
I did the Heller S35 before in the german marking and always said i wanted to do one in the french markings… so your GB gave me the incentive.
Geoff,
You are welcome, my friend. I am going to try and copy the Zaloga article out of the Military Modeling magazine and get it out to you. It’s interesting. I would like to know sometimes how much money was thrown into some of these kits you see in magazines. It would probably put me off modeling so maybe I don’t want to know.
I love this GB stuff [:D]
June 22, 1940 at aprox 1830 hours France surrenders to Germany.
Well done Steve!
I think I am going to model Char B1 bis #337 Eure. It put up a valiant struggle against the Germans at Stonne. I am still waiting to hear from my friends across the ocean before I make the final decision. Do you know which B1 bis you are going to model?
Any luck with the resin casting stuff? Thanks for keeping this GB on the first page.
chris… any char b1’s in 1/35 you can still find… and BTW everyone, Trumpeter is releasing a new H39 kit in January… It looks wild, I already have one on pre-order with my LHS.
Take care ! It seems to be a wrong turret on Trumpeter’s model.
I’ll try to tell you more next time !
Hello !
I built the S35 a few months ago, with the interior in scratch.
But the turret is wrong in the shapes; I didn’t correct it…
The camo is from 1rst DLM, 18th Dragon.
Some pictures
And that, it’s nothing ! You should see his Panhard 178 ! It’s awesome !
that is great! tell me, i am building an S-35 as well… was that camo done with an airbrush? amazing, simply amazing!
Thanks, Geof
Pierre, arrête, je suis tout rouge !
lol
In fact, the camo is made with acrylics Valejo; in the first place the green (airbrush), and the other colors with brush.
well, my S-35 wont come near to that one… but it’s a great tank, ive always liked it… In fact my Yahoo ID is somua70 …
Chris, I was thinking of Fantasque 251 in the flocage, but I’ll probably go with 467, I can’t tell from my photos if it’s named, but it’s got lots of markings and so I’m attracted to it. Still waiting for the resin pouring kit to get here. I finished up a Firefly I’d started a while back and I’m putting the finishing touches on a Panther from a while back as well. The resin stuff should be here soon, and then I’ll get back on track.
Geoff,
I tried to send this link to your but it was returned undeliverable. So here it is:

If you go to the Alta Vista website you can cut and paste it and translate the french to english. I was checking Franck’s website out and it is great. Loads of good stuff there.
As for 1/35 Char B1’s the creator of the 1/35 kit that Steve and I are doing is a member of my model club. He is thinking about doing another one. I’ll keep on him.
Steve,
If you have gone to the Char Francais website and it’s just numbered it might not have gotten a name. I have the Finescale review of the MB Models Char B1 done as Fantasque. Very ambitious. I can put it on my list of things to copy if you send me your snail mail address.
Pierre,
I am just happy that there is a company that is going to produce a H-39 that I don’t know if I care that much for the accuracy. While I am thinking of it are there any good kits for the AMX 30 and Panhard EBR in the 1/35 scale?
Franck,
Your S-35 “C’est Magnifique!!!” How about a Char B1 bis? You really need to do one of those.
Thanks to all of you for keeping this GB on the first page. This GB stuff is Great! [:D]
Steve,
Go to this link - http://www.chars-francais.net/archives/b_1bis/archive-b1bis_nivernais2.htm
Tell me if this is the Char B1 bis that you are considering modeling.
I have some info on this tank.
Gentlemen,
Here is what I am doing for translation - http://babelfish.altavista.com/
Superbe travail, cher Model35…! Really worth seeing!
While I am thinking of it are there any good kits for the AMX 30 and Panhard EBR in the 1/35 scale?
Chris,
AMX30 is a Heller’s kit ( I believe PE exists from Eduard )
EBR is produced by Fine cast Modelers . It’s a resin kit ! You can also find a very old kit from Italeri but hard to find it.
Chris, yep, that looks like the one. One of the photos is the same as one I have here. It sure has a boat load of markings.
Hey Steve,
I have some info on the B1 bis. I have a After the Battle magazine which has a story about the Battle of Denee (sp?) and it’s in english. I will dig it up and make a copy for you if you like. Matchbox did a 1/72 kit combo kit with a B1 bis and FT 17 and they have Nivernais II in artwork on the box. I asked Mike Bishop about his B1 bis references at our last club meeting and they were all out on loan. I will hopefully see him again and get more detailed info if you want and any questions about the kit too for that matter.
Just let me know.
Chris, the link http://model35.free.fr/somua_s_35.htm is perhaps better; it’s my site
The “peinture bis” means simply it’s the second time I paint this kit, the first was not good enough to my mind.
By the way, Denée is in Belgium.
