What are “group builds”? Someone buys a kit, does part of it, sends it to the next person, etc?
A group build is nothing more than a bunch of guys who want to build a kit that fits in with the theme of the build. Such as the Battle of Britain GB, where we all build planes that flew in the Battle of Britain. It’s more about the comeraderie, sharing info, tips, pictures of our builds in progress. It , historical info etc. It adds a nice social aspect to building your model. [:)]
So, when they are done are they assembled together and displayed for all to see? Presented to a museum? Or is it more of the comaraderie (sp?) thing to just know that you’re working on the same theme as others at the same time?
Comraderie, sharing ideas etc. We’re building them for ourselves. It’s a fun way to share your modelling hobby with people from all over the world. Just take a look at a couple of the Group Build threads and read some of the posts, and you’ll get a better idea on what they are all about. Most of us post progress pictures and of course the final results when we’re all done. [:)]
