Jester, you are doing a beautifull job on your Mustang. I cannot wait to see her done. Great job.
Eric, congratulations on making some big jumps in you skill level! Your Stang is looking really great, and a good job with your first Future and washing. I just discovered this stuff last year and now I wouldn’t think of building without it.
Thank you all for the compliments. Here are a few more. The only thing left to do is add the exhaust ( need some kind of burnt metal paint) and the antenae wire. I like how this thing turned out. I followed someones advice here and used Scotch brand frosted tape for the canopy. Laid down a coat of GZC and then the fuse color and I really really like how it turned out. Excuse my bad picture taking but here are some more…
A thousand thank you’s[bow] to those here who have helped out with all their advice, this is truly a great place to be!![tup][tup][tup]
BTW: Looks like this cat is going to have to be declawed for the moment, I went to put one of the machine guns in and believe it or not it fell all the way into the wing!! I shook this thing forever trying to get it out to no avail. Guess I’ll have to wait and get some metal tubing or something[#dots]
That came out GREAT!! The way you did the panel lines looks awesome, just enough to show em off, but not too worn! I just started my P-51D for the GB yesterday, I hope mine looks that good when it’s done!
WOW You did a Sweet Build there.
Well Done if I may say so
Bud
Looks quite good.
I have a question though- arent the gear wells supposed to be aluminum? (it’s enitrely possible that I’m wrong).
Tanky, the most accurate research agrees with you for the A variant. However there’s so much other information out there that i’m not suprised he painted them zinc chromate.
Jester, the plane looks really good! The airframe itself is very tidy, no seams that I see. Your wash looks real good for a first timer, but there’s a few smudges here and there that I see. I’m sure experience will fix that. You’ve built something that you can be proud of, and with more kits under your belt, your skill level can only go up!!! Moral of the story: BUY MORE KITS (and be sure to show us, I’ve enjoyedfolowing your progress!)
Thank you all!! Yes, it did say in the instructions to paint them silver but the walkaround page I was looking at had them GZC. One thing I found using an oil for a wash is that it left a residue on the surface of the plane when I wiped it off. This has been a fun build and I am looking forward to more stuff from AM for sure!!
