Academy GMC M10 Build ****COMPLETED****

Putting this one together to lower the stash count.

sanded off the tool locating lines in the back. This reminded me of the old Hawk kits with the raised decal locators.

the interior of both the hull and turret are ready for paint

the gun is nicely detailes as is

I wasn’t crazy about the plastic tip for the barrel so i cut my own from brass tube and glued it on.

The completed barrel

No matter the warts, it’s a good kit to build. I have one 3/4 finished, been on the shelf of no return for almost five years now.

Yours is looking good, keep at it.

Yeah, that looks really good so far. I like how you improvised on the business end of the barrel.

Thanks guys.

I’m curious to see how this comes together, might have to add one to the stash.

Stay tuned BK [;)]

Looking good so far PJ. Those Academy GMC/TD kits (M10, M18, M36) are not bad at all. The look good OOB, and are a great starting point for some AMS work.

Thanks stik.

Looking good PJ! Always liked how the M10 looked.

Thanks GS.

I have a question regarding the on board tool color usually would be OD as stik pointed out but how about in a Tan and OD scheme (601 TD in particular) where the tan color is where the tools are located. Would the tools be tan or OD?

That all depends upon the crew. If the tools were left in place, the engineers applying the paint would paint right over them. If the crew took the time to remove them, they would be in whatever scheme that they were beforehand.

Thanks stik, was thinking about the same thing and you confirmed it.

Work computer=No pictures.

I’ll be back later on this evening to check this out Ernie.

It’s fun watching you guys build armor. One of these days…

No pictures yet Joe but will have some up as soon as I have some progress. It’s been too hot to paint in the garage lately, feels like an oven is on high!

C 'mon Greg grab an armor model and have some fun!

Yeah Greg. C’mon man. [:P]

You could start with the Ryefield VW Beetle you know…just sayin’.

I hear what you’re sayin’ about this heat! Only a few more weeks and it’ll start coolin’ down. Looking forward to those pics.

O

Ok got some progress going here. Bogeys are on

Shot the forward interior white. The rest will be OD

The turret and gun details are done

Stretched some sprue and made thin weld lines as seen on my reference pictures

I need to add some small parts and the OD will be sprayed next.
