This is the Tamiya kit, built pretty much out of the box, merely with the addition of Eduard belts, TD wheels, and wire for brake hoses.
The aircraft depicted is White 22 of Jagdverband 44, based on a photo in Jagdwaffe Volume 5, of said aircraft in a very sad state having run off the runway at Salzburg Maxglan in April of 1945.
I really loved the faded paintwork, with the darker lines over the porous areas of the puttied panel lines. The nose section, incorporating the gun bay appears to have been from another A/C, hence the different shade of RLM 83, while the nose cone itself was painted RLM 81.
All the panel lines were filled with Mr Surfacer 1000, to leave just a hint of line, more in keeping with the real thing.
Weathering is a combination of post shading, oil washes, water colour washes, and pastels.
Nice job. I agree, the weathered and faded monochrome paint finish is both unusual and interesting. One is so used to seeing the 262 in various late war, multi color camo schemes.
basically what the others have said, very nice weathering. It is kinda plain looking, but I like how it shows off both the 262’s lines and the nice finish work. Sometimes simple works best.
Nice job. Very realistic weathering. I like battle weary aircraft with scavenged pieces from other doner aircraft. It gives you a feel for the times and the make do with what you have situation of the Luftwaffe in the end of the war. Well done.
