2016 OTS (1/72) SMALL IS BIG

This kit is going to take some work. The engines don’t have any locating pins and don’t match up very well. The seams will take some work and filling and will result in the loss of raised detail, but it’s not the first.

I have this A-37 I was just going to get started once I get an A-7E out of the way.

That looks great 68.

Alright, got her clear coated and dressed up. Managed to break off the refueling probe while I was at it. [8o|] I always seem to break something…

Next up is a wash, give her legs, attach all the doodads and gizmos, and somehow manage to not break anything off… Wish me luck!

Anyway, here she is atm…

Thanks for looking!

Very nice Krusty. Most impressive.

Krusty, that Scooter is looking great! I know how you feel; I’m always breaking off long parts all the time. I always put them on last because of that.

68GT, good luck with that model. I started one a long time ago and never finished it. After I closed up the fuselage with the cockpit inside, I tried to put the canopy on. It wouldn’t fit on account of the cockpit seats sitting way too high. You’ll have to pose this one with the canopy opened.

Great decal work on that A4. Really brings it to life.

modelcrazy, that’s a rather ambitious project. Looking forward to seeing it.

I managed a solution for the tail number decal issue on my Ms.406.

That is looking good Krusty. I am sure we all your your pain on the broken probe.

Nice job there, did you cut that mask yourself.

Bish, thanks! I did – I used my fly-tying scissors and it took several tries.

You’ve done a cracking job on it.

Well, I’m gonna call her done!

Overall I’m pretty happy with this build. Had a few “Happy little accidents” and would do some things a little differently were I to build her again, but overall a nice little kit!

…and here she is!

Thanks for looking!

So cool, just loves the lines. It looks like a clean build and the panel lines make it pop.

Krusty, nice build.

BTW I use Woodland Scenic products for groundcover about 90% of the time.

Terry

Your A-4 really turned out great Krusty. The weathering looks great and I agree with Terry about the panel lines.

Thanks Jibber!

IMO the panel lines on the fuselage were fairly deep and a bit out of scale. Looking at it finished I probably should have gone a bit lighter on them or tried a different technique.

Here I am being too self critical… [:S]

…Anyway, I’m really liking Airfix new tooled kits and this one went together nicely.

Thanks again for looking!

Fantastic job Krusty! What a lovely little bird! I like the way this looks, congrats on getting done

Looks great Krusty. Love the decals from that era. Nicely executed.

Thanks again guys! [proplr]

The decals on this kit were really nice to work with. Thin and reacted very nicely with micro set/sol. A big difference from the last few kits I’ve worked on.

I started on the A-37. right off the bat I like the Academy kit over this Hasegawa. Guess it’s new verses old.

Wayne heres my German 8 Rad and diorama. It measure roughly 10" X 10" and i’ve included a transport vehicle, a lead motorcycle and a US spotter. Please wxcuse the multiple shots but I ddn’t know how to cover the entire board.

Thanks for looking and apologize for the numerous pics.
