Strong finish on the Phantom! He is a great display piece. I love how the cape turned out. So glad you stuck with it and persevered till the end. Five star finish! ![]()

@PhoenixG @Cbowling @SprueOne Thanks very much for the kind words. And @PhoenixG thanks for the encouragement to continue with the original base.
Cheers,
Mark
I’m getting into building monster models and was curious what glue works best, I’ve tried the tamiya ones but they don’t hold and there always seems to be a small gap on the models… thanks
@Christian_Anderson Welcome to the forum!
I used Revell Contacta Professional on this build.
But I didn’t use enough to squish out melted plastic to fill gaps. There were some big ones and I mostly used Milliput Superfine White putty for that.
I think I will try sprue goo for the gap filling on my next monster build.
Hope this helps and cheers,
Mark
I am sure glad this post got bumped back up to the top! I missed it altogether this summer.
@MisterMeester I think you’ve perfectly captured the look and spirit of the vintage monster model kits. It looks like a professional build meant for box-top photos – better, actually, given all the extra details you’ve added. I really enjoyed your progress posts along the way and want to reassure you that they’re worth the effort!
@Toimi_Tom
Thank you so much! I very much appreciate the encouraging words.
I’m intending The Wolfman next, but alas my Titanic build is taking up a lot of my time and he will have to wait.
Cheers,
Mark
