1/48 Martin B26?

Anyone know where I can find one? Local hobby shop says they can’t order one, and Squadron doesn’t list one in their catalog.

Any ideas?

You have 2 choices - the AMT kit or the Monogram one. Both are OOP. The Monogram one was also released with resin detail parts a couple years ago.

I just bought the Monogram version at Hobby Lobby.

The National Air and Space Museum, in DC, used to carry the Monogram version of Flak Bait as the forward fuselage of it is on display there. I remember building it way before I ever visited the museum and being surprised when I saw the original sitting there.

Actually 3 choices. Aurora made one. I see the Monogram kit on eBay regularly.

Yup, shop online, ebay…

Yeah? Are you sure your thinking of the right aircraft? Never seen a 1/48 B-26 at hobby lobby.

The A-26 Invader was redesignated B-26 between 1948 and 1965.

That is the Douglas A-26/B-26 Invader, not the Martin B-26 Marauder. Two completely differnet aircraft

Two different aircraft indeed. I got the Douglas from HL and realized the difference after taking a closer look. Not what I had in mind, but it will give me a test bed for weathering OD without an airbrush. And it looks like I will be hopping thru the Bay after all. Hopefully I can find one for less than the UK guys want for theirs, otherwise I’ll have to get one shipped from England (kind of ironic if you think about it). And all because I want to put together a 1/48 set of the six primary aircraft of the 8th Air Force. Well, I’m halfway there with acquisition, I still need a Jug and a Lightning, then I start building. Onward, thru the fog…

Marauders mostly flew for the 9th AF out of England, once that AF moved there after the North Africa campaign ended in 1943. That kit has been issued several times fairly recently by Revell and Revell Germany. It should not be too hard to find for a fair price.

Just to set the record straight, I do know the Marauder and Invader are two different aircraft. I made the comment in regards to a possible mistaken ID in the post concerning the Hobby Lobby sighting of a B-26.

One that hasn’t been mentioned here is the AMT B-26. IFRC it got a decent review when it was issued. There are 3 on ebay.

Mild and Bitter version so Yeah I am pretty sure…EDIT after thinking about it I got this one through Squadron. So good call B-17 Guy[:D[

Former boss of mine flew one in WW2. Shot down over Mayen Germany in February 1945, spent the rest of the war as a POW. Awarded DSC for flying the ship until the crew had bailed out. He went out through the nose wheel well.

Didn’t the old Revell 1/72 have a dorsal turret you could push up and down?

Yes it was, read my reply above. [:D]

Sorry, most of the responses are about the Monogram kit. Lost the AMT in translation.

Ebay showed mostly the Revell kit. I should be able to get one of those, but to whoever pointed me to Ebay, kinda thanks. I ended up getting a 1/48 piece of PSP (about 9.5x6.5 inches). Can’t wait to see it.
