1/48 Martin B26?

Found a Revell 1/48 Martin B-26 in a shop in Canada. Now to wait for delivery. That is five out of the six kits I want before I start my own “group” build of 8th AF aircraft. Last one is the jug.

Looks interesting. I hope the new manufacturers can take a hint here.

If and when they do, expect a major price jump.

Well, Zoukei Mura is hinting that their next 1/32 project will have the R2600, and thats the only info out so far.

When did the Revell kit get released with resin parts?

R-2600’s mean that it is a B-25 as the B-26 had R-2800’s.

I recommend the Monogram B-26 Marauder kit in 1/48, and I recommend eBay, where you can find a number of examples up for sale at any given time. Or if you go to modeling shows, check the vendor tables. I got mine off eBay.

Don’t bother with the Aurora kit, unless you’re looking for an exercise in scratchbuilding/upgrading kit details. Of course, if you’re a nostalgia builder, then the Aurora kit can be fun.

I don’t know anything about the AMT kit, so I can’t speak to it.

Duh. I see you’ve already found one.

@richs26-I might be wrong,it could be 2800s.A friend of mine heard it at IPMS Nationals in Colorado.

This I got off the Zoukei Mura site- Clue…… It is a twin-engine aircraft!!

Clue #2…… A spirited brother…!!

Definitely look at Ebay. I picked one up last week for about $10. It’s a great kit. The AMT kit is well detailed, but doesn’t fit as good as the Monogram kit, if I recall correctly. Good look in your search!

I just learned that ESCI put out a 1/48 B-26, too. Matt Swan has a side-by-side review of the ESCI and Monogram kits here at his website: www.swannysmodels.com/B26B.html

I’m intrigued now by the ESCI kit and will have to track one down myself.

The ESCI Marauder is a rebox of the AMT kit.

Thanks, SP! From Swanny’s side-by-side review, it sounds a lot better than I might have expected from AMT.

Yes, I have read good things about that kit as well.

Both the AMT and Monogram B-26 kits are good. I have both and would recomend either depending on which one you get your hands on.

I’ve had the Monogram kit in my stash for almost 30 years. I also downloaded a build article from FSM by Bob Steinbrunn who did an amazing detail job. That may still be available.

The Monogram B-26 was also released as a Revell of Germany kit also.

I got the Monogram kit years ago, too, for my stash. I want to bash it into Lt. Muri’s B-26, for my Midway collection.

When you get your Lone Star Models kit, you won’t use the entire rear tail canopy as the 22nd BG removed it from their B-26’s for a greater field of fire for the gunners.
