1:48 AIRFIX SEAFIRE FR47 AND DIORAMA

Hi every one.

I have just finished this Seafire FR47 and thought I would post it on this forum.I built it straight out of the box and found it to be an excellent kit by Airfix with no real bad fits and would recomend it to any one.

I scratch built the Diorama about a year ago and thought I would place the Seafire on it.

Any coments …good or bad!!..will be appreciated…lots of photos I’m afraid!!

Well thats the lot lads!![:)]

Thanks for looking in

Cheers

Beautiful work Foz. [Y] I’ve always liked the naval colours on a Seafire, and seeing the wingfold on a Spitfire/Seafire always adds some interest. That option is included in the Airfix kit?? I love the work you’ve done on the hangar, locker doors open too - were those scratchbuilt items??

I’ve got a Hobbycraft Seafire in the stash that I plan on working on this year - I hope it turns out half as nice as this one! (Already picked up some AM for it - resin cowling bulges & decals for a RCN aircraft.)

Awesome build, and the dio is fantastic too. I love the accessories like the stool and the tanks, really lends a bit of realism to the whole scene. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice job on the buildloved the pics.

Hi there!..yep …the option is included in the kit…also to iether build the FR47 or the FR46!!money well spent!!..all the items in the Hanger were scratch built down to 1:48 scale…check out my website below for more info.Good luck with your Seafire mate!

My thanks to every one who has commented…appreciate it

Incredible build, especially with the dio setting. I built this kit as the Mk.46, and it is still one of my favorites. Thank you for sharing your work, it was an absolute pleasure looking at it.

Beautiful…great job…I may have to look into that kit…I really like the looks of it.

Some great info & pics on your website too. [Y] Luck on a Hobbycraft kit… thanks!! I’ll take all that I can get on that one!! It’s been in the stash for at least 10 years now, it deserves to see the light of day, no matter what issues I come across!

What ever issues you come across…I’m sure you will overcome them mate!..thanks for looking at my website!

My thanks goes out to Frank and Hutch for your kind comments[Y]

you have in mind to post something less than a perfect work?

Wow… Nice work… I love the attention to detail, especially the little added touch of the drip-pan under the nose, a common thing in a hangar, yet an often over-looked detail… I would have liked to seen some figures depicting some kind of maintenence or repair action going on in the hangar, since I’m a diorama guy too and feel a “story” is important, but other than that, an outstanding piece…

Wow! That is a beautiful build! I am a big fan of the Seafire and you have done a great job on the FR/47. I am most impressed with your diorama as well. Excellent work Sir!

Side note - I’ve never really understood HOW contra-rotating props actually work. Anybody??

Yes

You’ve been Manny-fied. [bnghead]
