Well it has been a while. First a week on vacation then I returned to Irene and a flooded basement. After a month to clean up and dry out, I finally have time to get to the bench and finish this build.

The final details include

· Radio antennas - .020 brass wire

· Antenna caps - .030 styrene rod and .010 punched styrene sheet

· Antenna wiring – thin solder painted Flat black

· Fuel Can straps – leftover PE

· M2 – Academy M2 with Lion Roar Barrel. Painted with my Parkerized finish.

· M2 – Ammo, Tamiya parts box for the mount and ammo can and Academy MG set ammunition. Mount painted Tamiya NATO Green, Box painted Polyscale Dk Tactical Green, ammunition painted Alclad Pale Gold with Tamiya Copper for the heads and Tamiya Flat Black for the belt.

· Decal for the viewfinder on the vision head.

Most of the details were weathered with the mix of MIG Industrial Dirt and Desert Storm Sand pigments along with some final touchups. Added some dry brushing of the chain, tow hooks and winch area with some Dark Sienna Oil for rust and #2 pencil for steel scratches. I added fuel spillage at the fuel caps and on the cans with Floquil Wet Oil.

The base is Cell-u-clay with some sand mixed in and colored with a mix of Tamiya Buff and Light Grey. After setting the rocks were added to give the roadside effect. Yes…real rocks.

So without further adieu

Mike, I hate to say this but there’s not enough chippings & rust! Oops, its a modern armor… not WWII thing… I apologize!!! [:D] As usual, beautiful result… [Y]

Sorry to hear about your basement… hope your workbench or your builds are not damaged or ruined?

Looking forward to your M115!

We the people, in order to maintain a more civil forum in which we can share our works, ideas, opinions and questions free of the tyranny of the forum fascist present this manifesto. It is our intent to end the totalitarianism that crushes its cold red fist into our throats each day as we attempt to gain knowledge, share insight, and seek enlightenment from our forum peers.

Any topic specific forum should first be dedicated to the topic at hand while the “general discussion” plays a secondary role. General discussion topics play an important role in any forum albeit secondary. They serve to keep the individuals who visit the forum for topic specific (i.e. modeling) information further engaged in the community building process. However, thread topics such as “The stupid art of meaningless jumbled dictionary diarrhea” does not constitute a valid general discussion topic. This is a topic created purely for the sake of post count. Nevertheless, these topics deserve to be allowed to exist and persist no matter what level of insanity they reach.

Unfortunately, it is the abnormal psychosis of the creators and protagonist of these threads that have degraded into the newly coined term “Forum Fascist.” Eventually it is no longer enough for the forum fascist to be content with inflating his or her post count via the general discussion nonsense threads. Comments begin to seep into all thread topics created by all members of the forum community. The fascist feels the need to reference inside jokes from the last century of forum history, not just in other poster’s general discussion threads, but also in their modeling specific threads. If there is no antiquated inside joke the fascist feels relevant for the topic then he/she makes some other random, off-topic, useless comment.

It is at this time that the first of three forms of forum bias rears its ugly head. It can happen in any thread whether topic specific or general. However, when it happens in a topic specific thread is when the greatest injustice to man occurs. This will serve as our example. NEWGUY01 registers an account and ask what appears to be a common sense question every modeler knows the answer to. In many cases the forum fascist appears and references said archaic inside joke, or makes some other random useless post. Now, because the fascist typically has amassed an absurd post count the general forum population who (perhaps unknowingly) worships said fascist deems the whole topic unworthy of discussion. NEWGUY01’s thread now dies.

This phenomenon happens all too often in the forum community. Too frequently does the fascist make some off topic comment that the sheeple feel the need to perpetuate with infinite more useless replies. Now instead of the original poster’s thread being answered it becomes a 140 page thread full of asinine inside jokes that only serve to add to the fascist’s arsenal for the killing of his next thread.

The second form of bias occurs when a low post count member, or new guy, post a topic that the fascist and his sheeple find unworthy of discussion. In some cases the fascist will kill the thread as before; in others the thread will just get ignored. A week later, however, the fascist, or the sheeple will post the identical thread which will turn into a 15 page encyclopedia of knowledge. What has happened is cliques have developed. The fascist has his own clique. However, there are other cliques that are unrealized. If a respectable forum member with some prestige (read: decent post count resulting from MEANINGFUL post) ask a question they are more likely to get a response than the new guy. These forms of cliques are unfortunate, and they aren’t good for any forum; however, they aren’t a parasite like the fascist clique is because they don’t discriminate out of some abnormal psychology. In many cases these incidents are involuntary; with the fascist they aren’t. The fascist is a leech that feeds off of destroying threads.

The final bias is forum moderation. These high post count individuals get away with a lot more than a new member would. At least this was the case. It does appear that a revolution is taking place in that it’s becoming clear to the moderator(s) that some of us are tired of having our threads killed or hijacked by the fascist. However, while I am getting messages to cut it out with calling out the fascist, I have to wonder if the fascist is getting personal messages ordering desists with their thread hijacking. We know that veiled threats are made within “inappropriate” threads by moderators, but no action is being taken.

Examples of fascism:

A while back I made a tongue-in-cheek thread that offended the delicate psyches of some of the fascists and their worshipers. The thread died quickly under the paralyzing crush of a giant red fist. I received a message from the moderators to stop with my inappropriate posts. I moved on. A few hours later in a modeling specific thread I post a legitimate answer to a good question and what do you think happened? The fascist slipped in and made a completely useless comment referencing the dead thread adding nothing to the question at hand. The fascist had killed a sub 50 post count individual’s thread for the sake of a joke that only him and his loser followers likely found amusing. Was there any comment from the moderators in THAT thread? No. The moderators are letting the forum fascist destroy the forum.

Unlike the forum fascist my livelihood and my ego do not hang in the balance of my status on this or any other forum. I haven’t been active in a week because this forum has degraded into a sad joke. Each day the level of quality in information degrades exponentially. I accept my banishment on Monday when the moderators decide it is I, the revolutionary, that must be silenced, and not the fascist. It will be ironic to watch my account being canceled by an organization protected by free-speech rights. A protection they have only because someone spoke up against the tyranny that oppressed a nation. Now I speak up against the tyranny that oppresses this forum. I hope my sacrifice isn’t in vain. I hope those of you who remain will experience some crackdown on the fascist. God speed.

Mike, that is a really cool looking vehicle. Your attention to detail really paid off!

That is one wicked looking ride, almost has an SF look to it. First rate all around, both build and finish. Ya done 'er proud!

Pat.

Gino - Thanks, always good to hear from you when I am building current era equipment!

Pisstoff - Thanks for stopping by and for the comment

Tony - Thanks for the comments. Once the tide began coming in we move as much as possible so no major losses in the modeling area. Thanks for the concern.

Andy - OK…I chipped the tow hooks and the chain…what else can I do for the chipaholic croud??? LOL Thanks for the peek

Eric - Thanks for stopping in

Pat - SF look…well the optics are designed to look a looooong way and put the metal on target. Thanks for the comments.

Killer stuff, Mike-this is really a great looking build, with just the right amount of weathering. A busy looking vehicle too–very cool!

And a nice base too. Nothing sets off a good piece of armor like a appropriate base! [Y]

Glad to see this one get across the finish line and up to your usual fine standards of detail and finish Mike! [Y] [Y]

Absolutely beautiful work Mike!

Karl - Thanks…coming from the king of finish…I appreciate it. I am not a fanatic but you have to have a base…its simple but dimensional.

Bill - Thanks for the peek. Always good to finish another fire mission.

John - Thanks for the look and for the comments. Always a pleasure to have you stop in.
