Is this a new kit? If not is it readily available?
I think it has been around for 20 years or so RM , but it has been retooled this year , so i think it is readily available . I got it for $50 au .
This is a very nice model, comparable to the Revell Emden kits.
She was built at Cramp in Philly. Don you would like this kit. The PE comes in a set with the Zvezda Borodino/ Suvurov kits.

built a cradle for it , as it is a bit smaller than I thought , and I don’t want to knock anything off of it .
the wood decks were painted on the sprue .
and my bench buddy ralph , found a piece I didn’t know I dropped , sigh!!!
the hull painted , nice to see a different colour other than red , like the italian ships .
I placed the decks in to see how they looked .
finally got the decks finished .
And rendered the color well.
The Brits used a dark gray bottom paint on some of their ships, the Flower Class corvettes were famously black-hulled–there’s a range.
Even the “red” used varies from a bright Insignia Red to a rust brown–very few things as “uniform” as “hull red.”

This kit has a lot of possibilities for those interested in the Spanish-American War.
Cramp built a number of Armored Cruisers and Protected Cruisers in the 1890’s, including USS Columbia, USS Minneapolis, USS New York and Varyag.
They also built the small battleships USS Massachusetts and USS Indiana.
While all different in their own ways, they could be created from this kit.

got some more of the superstructure on , and some other bits and pieces .
found some old railing , so I used it .
the poles in the kit were just too fragile to use , so I cut some .5mm brass rod .
Looking very good - as I would expect being built by you.
I have the same kit in my stash so I’ll be following along.
