ZVEZDA 1/2700 STAR DESTROYER BUILD

One of the advantages for building for others is working on a kit I wouldn’t necessarily purchase. Here is the Zvezda 1/2700 Star Wars Star Destroyer.

The model features internal cabin lighting and flickering rear engines. I elected to light only the main engines.

After first using the fiber optic/ led combo, I didn’t like the look…so I proceeded to remove all the fiber optic strands. I utilized SMD strips and on the inside of the model carefully smoothed on clear epoxy behind the drilled out viewports. The model was then sprayed with a clear flat to diffuse the internal lighting to a realistic scale. I dislike that horrid blue effect on white LEDS so I used warm White to give the correct effect.

I made my own circuit board for the rear flicker effects on the blue/white LEDS.
The model runs off 12 volts.

The first photo is at my local Hobbyshop with my 1/72 Bandai Millennium Falcon.

Wow Jim, that is nice! I would have a hard time turning that over to the client.

Oh wow, both her and the blockade runner look fantastic!!!

Sorry, saw this on my cell phone, was going to post something when I got to a real keyboard and then forgot… [:$]
