Anyone here done any of these yet? They look pretty damn impressive… the only prob for me would be not wanting to cover up the internals - I’d be look for ways to have a “functional” aircraft with as much exposed as possible. Curious to know if anyone here has tackled one.
yea, their kits are over engineered. their stang is nice but tamiya blows it away. i want their spad kit. theres just something about the spad that appeals to me.
this may help though.
I’m not convinced that the Tamiya kit is that much better. I’ve see. Build threads for both and I don’t recall any major fit problems on either. I think all the detail in the wings, engine, etc. is a nice addition for those who want it, but I couldn’t care less. I think builds with all that stuff hanging out are silly. That’s just me though. I don’t think there’s much difference in price, so brand snobbery would lean me toward Tamiya anyway.
I’m building the A-1 now. Basically its an average kit. The fit is ok, but about 80% on the interior details aren’t visible (there are even pistons molded to the inside of the engine cylinders). Its a good thing that it isn’t visible, as most of the interior framework is fictional. However the cockpit, engine, and gear bays are decent.
i can deal with a 32nd stang but a 32nd spad would be a lot larger. i wish tamiya did an AD-5/A-1E.
