You invite a modeller friend over, and you see him taking a bottle of paint.....what would you do?

Sadly;

I have found myself in the same boat .As the person left I told them ." When you get home and try the paint you picked up , let me know how you liked it " Then DO NOT invite this person back into your home ! Tanker - Builder

Seriously? And you find it okay to steal from someone? I don’t care if it cost $3 or $1. It’s the principle of it all and the dishonesty and gall to steal from a friend. If it were me, that would have been the end of him being invited into my home period.

Agreed sheep. I call that abuse of trust and lack of ethics. The $ amount has nothing to do with it but rather the act of stealing from a friend, no matter how small or insignificant. I too will leave it here. The OP can do what he wishes. All we can do is provide an insight into his concerns.

Go over his house and trash his builds…

He’s no friend, he’s a thief and should be treated accordingly.

Don’t much care for labels. How about:

“Whats up with that?”

Several years ago on a site I used to visit, a member there found out a friend, fellow clubmember and also a user on that site, had been stealing one of a kind resin items from him and selling some of them off and keeping others for himself.

Some of the stuff was returned, don’t recall how exactly he discovered the theft, but the thief was caught redhanded.

Bottom line is that some people just do not have the same sense of right and wrong as others.

haha

“Shoot the hostage.”

So… any updates whether you confronted him or not?

Good grief…between this and all the I don’t have a girlfriend/ pet threads Ive about had it…

Maybe the next time your hanging out with him, ask him that question. Pose it like this…

KAYSEE88: “Yeah, so, I got this friend that invited this guy over to his house and while they were in his workbench area, the guy took a bottle of paint. I know, right? It sucks…what would you do?”

Pause…

I disagree that following up on a theft is a matter of injured pride, and I also disagree that to ignore the theft is somehow shows the thief some grace. There are deeper issues involved, when one person steals from another, and they should not be ignored. It may very well work out that the injured person forgives the thief, but that won’t happen if it’s not brought out in the open.

That girlfriend thread was one of the “better” ones. lol
