I’m working on a 1/48 P-38J Lightning, and going to do it as the 5,000th production P-38 “YIPPEE”. It will be basicely be OOB, with just a few minor improvements just for overall appearence. However the color- WHAT IS IT???!!! I’ve read it described as ‘fire-engine red’ to ‘bright red’, to what crossed referenced to an FS code for international orange in the Testors Model Master enamel range. I’m thinking that Humbrol’s “Fire Orange Gloss” enamel would best encompass all these descriptions. Any suggestions?
What you’d like it to be?

It was called Vermillion, a very bright red orange and Tom’s photo captures it very well compared to all the color photos I have seen. FS 12197 in one source.
