Yet another flippin' AVG P-40B (Hobby Boss 'Easy' 1/72)

HB’s simplified ‘Easy Build’ P-40B Tomahawk built straight out of the box…complete with bright powder-blue kit-sheet roundels…but a relaxing and fun project nonetheless. Of all the many aircraft that have ever worn a shark’s mouth – with due apologies to the RAF’s 112 Squadron, who admittedly had them first – the American Volunteer Group’s versions, on the pugnacious P-40B, still seem to ‘growl’ the loudest.

Enjoy.

Nice job Greg. Something about that plane just brings the little kid out in me. The old monogram 1/48 kit was one of the first planes I ever built.

Thanks. That’s kind of the way I approached it: no cockpit add-ons, no brake or aerial lines (though I did break down and scratch-build the British-style pitot), just a quick, fun build! [:D]

Excellent! The shark mouth is always cool.

Awesome work, Greg! Thanks for sharing it.
