I recently bought the 1/48 th scale J2F-5 Duck kit by I Love Kit. The instructions say to use Interior Green in the cockpit, but I seem to remember from somewhere that it should have been Yellow. So far detail looks pretty good, no complaints there. But thought I should check with someone about the interior color. Thanks for any help.
No yellow ZC in the cockpit. Yellow zinc chromate may not even be found on a J2F. Grumman usually used a light gray of their own on things like cowling interiors, Bronze Green in cockpits, and wheel wells were usually painted in the same color as the surrounding surface area, as was standard USN practice through WWII.
The J2F is not covered specifically in this link, but other Grumman types are.

Nice cockpit shot

I’d just be a tad bit cautious about depending upon a museum aircraft as reference for paints. Often times they are restored out of speciations for colors from when they were built.
I remember a time when I worked at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. I also belonged to a chapter of the EAA. The word got around that a local surplus store had Zinc Chromate primer in spray cans at a really good price. We wondered if it really was good.
Turns out MDD receiving had bounced it because the green color was bit off in color- did not meet spec- everythig else was fine. I went to store and bought 12 cans!
