Ya know what I really dislike about the 110?

All those freaking little window panes!

This is the Fujimi 1/48 Bf-110C/D being built as a provisional C. I’ve got about one week into this right now (3 days of masking) and for the most part am building it right out-of-box. It’s being done gear up and my main interest sparked in the kit was to do something different with the paint scheme (you’ll have to wait a bit for that part). The crew figures that came with the kit were pure crap which was suprising since the rest of the kit was pretty darn good. I replaced them with a couple of pieced together figures from the figures parts box. I’ve got a couple other Fujimi kits and all of the crew figures suck across the board.

Here is the kit pilot next to the replacement guy.

Since she will be hanging from the ceiling in formation I am not spending a lot of time on the interior. Other than the crew replacement the only other modifiaction to the kit was drilling out the gun barrels and adding a reflective sight to the gunsight piece. Most parts fit together very well and only minor putty was needed around the front joining of the tail plane and along the belly seam.

The paint scheme is quite non-standard and I’ve been having a bit of trouble matching up proper paints - none of them are Luftwaffe.[?][:D][?]

Looks great as usual. those canopies can be a real pain.

I’ve built a couple & the canopies are a pain. Not as bad as a Stuka maybe, but close.

Regards, Rick

OUCH! I was just thinking about a Stuka superdetail project too!

Youve got me real curious about that surprise paint job. Cant wait to see what your up to. Looks good so far. hurry up and get painting.lol

Swanny - I am about 20% through that kit and the body itself goes together nice… I was a little apprehensive since it was my first Fujimi kit but no complaints… haven’t got to the masking but I somehow have developed a liking for the masking… ??? [8-][8-][8-]

I thought the Ju-88 was a challenge but being this is a smaller aircraft this might be fun too…

Oh and I threw away the little gumby looking men in my box haha

hmmm… you have me wondering about this paintjob too!!

Just finished doing a He 111 (in 1/72 scale [:O]) Making that was a [censored]!

That is a lot of window panes. No doubt your hard labor will be rewarded.

I’ll bet that was tough, especially in 1/72. I think my most challenging mask job to date has got to be the Do-217 M-11

Ouch!!! That 217 looks nasty too! What do you use to mask with? BTW, awesome clip bag on that gun. What did you use to make it?

looks pathetic Matt!! you can’t do any better than that?!![:o)][;)] mighty nifty knife work there Swanny!![tup] later.

LOL, thanks Chris.
Dave, all my masking is done with thin strips of 3M masking tape. That clip bag is fashioned from some sprue spun in my dremel against a needle file then heated and shaped. Sounds complicated but was quick and easy.

Niffty knife work Matt

"freaking ", “pure crap” "suck accross the board "…sounds like someone needs a hug.!Just kidding my friend. You’ll get there in the end !
I like to use bare metal foil to mask my clear parts and a strong abrasive soap to wash my sware words away. Yours are much more taseful than my though. Good luck with the rest of your build !mmmm …what will your paint scheme be ?
