just got the 410T in this mornings post from US. Question is, when they are closed, should the edges be flush together or slightly overlap like scissors.

I have the 440 pair which is similar to the 410T and mine overlap slightly.

The blades will overlap a little, the last thing you want is hardened steel to meet hardened steel all the time, doing this will blunt them super quick after chopping through some sprue.
I have a pir of Xuron cutters I’ve been using for 2 years, and they are exceptional.
I’ve got a pair of Xuron flush cutters that I’ve had for better than 10 years (A friend of mine who works in the electronics industry gave them to me) and don’t know how I would get along without them. Just remember to use them on plastic and soft metals (brass and copper) only. Someone I know borrowed a pair of mine to use on one of her craft projects. Turns out she was trying to flush cut some brads which were sticking out. When I got them back they looked like a pair of wire strippers.
