XL2000 Airbrush in the UK

Is the XL2000 double action airbrush in the UK any good. I am looking to resume my modelling after an absence of 12 years and now have the money to purchase a decent airbrush. Does anyone have any ideas on decent double action airbrushes readily available in the UK?

I’m surprised none of the UK guys have answered your post. They are usually pretty good about getting in here early in the morning (for us!). Karl, your assistance is required here!

I’ve seen a site mentioned several times that carries a good stock of airbrushes in the UK, but I’m not certain of the name. I think it’s www.mainlytrains.com, but I could be wrong. One of them will be along to straighten me out, I’m sure.

Discount art, which came up in the thread below started by me entitled ‘First Airbrush?’, have that model for 88 quid. It’s here if you’ve not seen it

The thread I mentioned became a bit of a discussion about the market in the UK and prices so you might want to check that out

It looks like a H&S Focus but with a side feed cup. I bet it is made by H&S. The Focus is the same as the Evolution without the gold plating. I would think it would work well for modeling.

holy cow the evolution limited is equivilent to $240 canadian WITHOUT shipping

Thanks guys, the evolution does look to be a good airbrush. I wish that the manufacturers would keep to common names throughout the world tho’. It makes reading advice from the US a tad difficult.

Sonarman, you might want to look at the following ABs, all by Badger:

155 Anthem £90
100G/LG £95

As MusicCity posted these are available from www.mainlytrains.com at the prices I have listed above. I’ve used Mainly trains a lot in the past, and the service is excellent with most orders arriving within 48 hours of being placed!

As for the brushes they are all Badger, which means that parts are available throughout the UK, and are pretty cheap as well. they are also dual action, and therefore will cover every application that you are ever likely to need them for.

The airbrush situation is a lillte different in the UK compared to the US, mostly in terms of cost, but if you know where to looks good deals can be had.

Hope this helps.
