X-Wing Studio-Scale Finished!

[/code]Just finished my X-Wing and thought I'd show it off alittle. It was a lot fun, but know I need to start fretting about the next project.... been thinking about an actualized Mill. Falcon, or a scratchbuilt Star Destroyer. (Non-Studio -Scale for that one!)[code]

[wow]Great looking X-Wing[wow] A job well done[^][^]

Trekker

Sharp-looking build, Lee. I love the weathering job.

" four in the green, S-foils locked in attack position. rogue 4 good to go!"

looks fantastic, wes jansen would be proud

Thanks for comments! Let me start this by stating that I have no stake in the sale of this model, but I found it to be one of the most enjoyable kits I have ever built, I’d highly recommend it to anyone with the Star Wars bug. When Star Wars first came out, I was twelve and immediately bought the X-Wing and Darth Vader Tie Fighter kits, they were a ton of fun until I saw a “making of” special and got my first glimpse of the studio model being handled. Getting my hands on an X-Wing in this scale has finally scratched a very old itch!

I see seven red X-wings, all in attack formation! (Oh wait, that’s just the images not downloading. [(-D])

Way Cool!! That’s just awesome.

I too was 12, when star wars came out and bought the same kits too! I wanted one of the studio scale model of anything! Everytime I find one and get ready to order someone from Lucas Arts showa an injunction for them to stop making them![banghead]

Wow, what can I say, that is just plain ole awesome! Who makes the kit? Resin?
I have always wanted to build a Rebel Blockade Runner. After seeing your X-Wing, maybe I will. I just picked up a copy of “Star Wars - Incredible Cross Sections”. The itch is coming back. I wonder if there is a market for a huge resin kit of the “Tantive IV”?.

Wow! A Tantive IV would be perfect! I would buy that one in a heartbeat! Where would I get one of those??[tup][wow]

A blockade Runner would be great. I’m getting serious about the Star Destroyer, I just can’t decide on a scale… a six fotter would be great, but I’d need an addition for the house to display it. Might need to settle for a 3 or 4 footer!

The X-Wing is a Resin kit that was originally made by a guy who goes by “Captain Cardboard”, his site is: http://p197.ezboard.com/fatomiccityfrm3

He discontinued making them, and someone else purchased the molds and has it back into production, he can be contacted at: Salzo1@aol.com

He does great work. There were a few missing detail pieces and a broken cockpit canopy when it arrived, he made good on them right away.

Incredible work! What scale is studio scale? Is that kit 1/24th scale? I can’t find it on the link. Seeing your work makes me want to buy one!

I’m not sure about the scale, but can tell you that it’s 22 inches long, with a 17+ inch wingspan.
